Some you children sped a great amount of their time practicing sports which may be or may not be affecting their studies. Do you think it is good?
Most kids love to play sports. It is important to them, but for the majority, it is just one type of activity out of many that they do. For a small number of kids, though, a sport becomes their whole life. They spend almost all their time and energy practicing. This has both advantages and disadvantages.
Sports are good for you children in many ways. Kids who enjoy sports are likely to have better health. They develop good habits of daily exercise that will keep them healthy as adults too. Today, many children and adults are overweight, but those who lofe sports stay in shape. Plus by developing their physical abilities, they will learn how to work hard towards a goal. Their achievements in sports will make them feel good about themselves. They will also make friends and learn teamwork. Sports whether a little or not, can have positive effects.

I think sports in school are generally a very good thing because it promotes fitness and health, something that kids will need to know how to practice their entire lives regardless of which career path they take. It's also important because it's something kids are losing these days, in favor of surfing the web, watching movies or tv, or generally doing things that turn them into unhealthy couch potatoes. Yes, it can distract from studies, which is why there needs to be a balance of physical education and book education.
Personally, I wasn't involved in any "sports" per say during school. I wasn't, and still am not, one for sports. I could never dribble a ball in basketball, hit the ball in baseball, etc... I just remember running from the ball and getting hit in the head with it. But I was in my high school's dance program, and boy did I love it! I still dance on my own now that I'm in college, but I really miss having that daily class and social circle of people who loved to dance. So if you count dance as a sport (which most people don't seem to... lol) then I was in a sport. It was certainly a daily physical work-out and life-long teacher of how to stay fit and healthy.

Yea it is off course good thing to keep ourselves healthy. When i was young, I liked books and hated sports. I saw other pople who loved sports and hated school Now that I am older, I have found a better balance. People have to figure out what is right for them. Is there such a thing as too much sports? There is no right answer, because there is no "right amount". Everyone is different.

I think I disagree, and that there is such a thing as too much sports. While there's absolutely nothing wrong with loving sports, I think there is something wrong when someone loves sports and shuns their education. There needs to be a balance, and there is a right amount of physical, health, and fitness education, and book and scholastic education and I don't think it varies too much by person. Perhaps a professional athlete would ultimately have more physical education than a professional at a desk job, but I do believe that it's still important for both to have a good working knowledge of the other side of things.

My dear friend to have a healthy mind it is important to first have a healthy body. My parents always helped me to take part in sports dont force your child to do anything unless your child is intrested in it. Belive me if you encorouge them in sports one day they yould be very proud of you. On the other hand if you want to educate your child the best way to do it is start early in the morning with studies later you can hehp your child in sports. vIt creates a balance between mind & body also send your child for YOGA classes it would help in improving mind & body balance. Best of luck.:)

Oh! you are right. Parents should not force children unless they are interested. It will make them feel unimportant.

I think all children should be introduced to sports!
Sports not only keep children physically fit, it could also teach them life lessons, like not giving up, striving for a goal, importance of teamwork, etc.
Plus, a kid devoting his/her time in sports also means, she is not devoting this time to bad habits.

At an early age, we could introduce sports to our kids. But we should not impose to them, but let them choose the one they will really have interest of.
But we should also teach them that having a sports need not interrupt their studies. They just have to learn how to prioritize things. Like , they can do their sports on weekends but weekdays will definitely be studies.

You are very right. We admire that talent and dedication of young athletes, but we also wonder if they are losing something. Their focus is very narrow. If htey devote most of their time to sports, are they neglecting shoolwork? What about other interest? Children should try out many different activities, In addition, many young athletes are pressured by parents or couches to succeed. Kids whose drive comes from inside usually do okey, but others can be unhappy and have health and emotional problems. So sports like anything else in excess, can have negative effect too.

Engaging in sports while their still young is actually a good thing, especially if you plan on making him an athlete when he grows up. Its really just a matter of time management, which depends solely on the parents or primary caregivers, since children just do whatever they want to.

Yes!! Sports is very good for the health of young children. It strengthens the heart and muscles and keeps the body in good shape. But too much of something is too bad. Children shouldnt spend ALL their time practising sports as this may turn of negatively for them by tiring the muscles and joints and this can cause some physical problems. Also, young children ought to concentrate on their studies and life and practice sports during their free or leisure time. Normally, children should practise sports for one hour each day and if they cant do sports, then fitness will cover up. Yound children who play sports using the correct ways and timing will have good health and body for their later years and life.

yes,i agree with u,but i would say sports has more of advantages than disadvantages. Not only it is good for physical fitness but also if any sports is taken up seriously by any child or adult to become a sprotsmen then they r really paid once they reach their goal.Because sports nowadays has also become very popular and sportsmen become celebrites in not only their own country but all through world.so even sports can b taken seriously like any other fields of profession.

I think it good that the kids(especially the kids on this generation) to be in to sports. Their lifestyle now is so sedentary having all the new technologies nowadays, they end up like a bum on their sofa. Watching tv, surfing the net, playing their consoles that is usually the trend of the kids nowadays. So for me, it is really good that they would be in to sports but not too much that will also hinder on their studies. Too much on everything is not really good. Balance everything in ourlives.
