Yesterday i tried recreating a recipe from a cooking book. I followed the instructions exactly and the dish turned out to be like the picture they had shown. It tasted very good too. Last week i saw a recipe for making a cake in 5 minutes using a microwave. I
tried that and the cake became hard. It was supposed to be soft and moist.
Have you ever tried out a book recipe, followed the instructions exactly and the dish turned out to be exactly as shown?

Yes, I have followed many recipes from cook books. Often they turn out exactly like the picture. I love cooking and so try out a lot of recipes. I especially try main meal recipes, my favourite being chicken.
Not all recipes I follow turn out. Quite a few months ago i tried a vegan chocolate cake and that did not turn out at all.
What was the recipe you tried?

I tried to make these dishes just like a cookbook.
I had a case where I did not get because I made a cake but was the second time.
but also I've had and things that have received since the first time.
Have a nice day!

Most of the recipes I try come directly and exactly from cookbooks. For the most part I am very satisfied with the results. Sometimes things come out better than I expected, but, when they do not come out to my taste, I either discard the recipe or modify the ingredients to my taste.
It's a great learning experience.
I do not use a microwave.

I have been tried to recreating a dish from the cooking book.I regard it as a nice thing for we could feel proud of ourselves eating our own piece of work. But honestly,it is really hard for me to cook as the instructions first time, but when i think that it is for the people i love, that would be the best encourage for me to go on.lol..

Yes, I have. I love to cook! Not all were successful of course. Rarely have I produced dishes that looked exactly like what's on the cook book and I doubt that it tastes the same way as well. I always tweak the dishes a little so that it'll suit my taste. I have yet to try cooking a dish that will look like what's in the cook book. I'm doubtful I ever will. =)

Home Ec and Betty Crocker were always my best friends to learn to cook by.
There are a few dishes I figured out how to make on my own without a recipe.
I have used Allrecipes here on the net and you cannot follow them exactly. Everything I have made has not turned out like it should have. one recipe was so salty and to much pepper added. Otherwise it would have tasted good
Once I tried two recipes that flopped from there I tend to read the reviews now before even considering making them.
Microwave and baking is not the best way to go. been there done that.
it can be done but it really is rocket science. lOL
I learned how to make a roast out of the microwave. That took some doing. My father in law said he would never eat one from the microwave. So we invited them over and I made it before they got there and they sat down to eat and he said this is really good. I just looked at him and said you just ate your first roast out of the microwave.
I had to learn to use it because my oven had went out and it took a couple weeks to save for a new one.
But have to admit, I did learn a lot about microwaves and how to expertly cook out of them.

I had an experience with cook book cupcakes before. It turned out a little different from what was on the picture. The texture was more like a cookie. Anyway I think I did it wrong that time and did not follow the instructions thoroughly. I got busy and never tried to redo the recipe until now.
