These past few days,I've been wondering why I can't sleep well. A friend advised me to drink medicine or consult a doctor perhaps but I still have no time to visit a doctor because of my hectic schedule. How can I have a good night sleep? What do you do to sleep well at night?

My dear friend except young children every body has got the same problem. You must know that if the mind is disturbed you cannot sleep well. Mind plays a vital role in this issue. During day time you will be working in an unfavorable conditions and your sad feelings and unpleasant thoughts are registered in your mind. These feelings and thoughts will make your mind restless during night time or at the time you go to bed. Because of these reasons you will not get sleep. The only remedy is you must know your mind and you must know how it works. YOu must go through the two books[1] Raja yoga [2] Karma Yoga written by Swami Vivekananda an Indian saint. Don't jump to the conclusion that I am advocating Hindu Religion. Those two books are not at all concerned with religion but teach us the art of living and it tells about mind and its control. But it will not be easy to under stand the contents of those two books. You must have determination and concentration then only you can achieve things. It is up to you to decide. Taking medicine is not a permanent cure.

SMRKKNAGAR, I really appreciate you for giving me such book as a reference. Yes, I will definitely look for that yoga technique because I've heard many times from friends that it's effective yet I'm not yet trying that. But this time I should do that. Thank you for the advice.

Have something milky before going to bed. That will knock you out. You can even eat, believe it or not, lettuce, maybe in a sandwich about an hour before you retire. They both contain chemicals that help us to relax and sleep. Try something natural before you go to the doctor. There might be a simple and effective solution.

Yes, there are sometimes when I couldn't sleep as well. Reasons for that usually would be too many things on my mind, stress or that I sat long before computer. In past few weeks, I have been trying to "correct" this habit of mine 'cause it's dangerous for health and one feels tired next morning & all day long. I prefer to shun down all the noises around me and with lights off I listen to classic music. It proves to be soothing and makes me sleep peacefully. You should try this to IMO!
