Is it true? No benefit of mylot without friends

Friends are definitely a bonus. However, they're not essential: I very rarely START discussions but I babble on and on, endlessly, on other people's topics. I still hit payout every month and learn tons of useful stuff. I guess the importance of friends depends on how you use the site.

I found that when I was new, and had few friends, I would even have discussions not responded to. As I added friends and responded more, others got to know me and they began to make responding to my discussions priority. I respond when I know what to say to some people. Other types of discussions I have to skip. For instance, I do not respond to sports questions, because I am sports ignorant. So if you posted a lot of sports questions they may have been read by people like me.

Hello my dear sweet friend! Oh how I remember your early days here on myLot! I have been following you since your very first days and find you have grown so much with the community! I remember early on your confusions, which were so understandable because it is not easy in the beginning. I was so determined to make sure you hung on here because I saw the beautiful person you are. I do remember early when you use to get only a few responses and I was determined to make sure I could respond to almost all of them because I did not want you to give up. It always gives me great joy to see members as yourself continually trying and succeed! Yes my friend having friends here benefits us in a great many ways. Lots will respond to our discussions, but of course we do have to be loyal to them also. Plus out of all the friends beautiful friendships grow here. Take you and I for instance that for almost a year we have been interacting and getting to know one another each time through our interactions. Something some members will and or will not learn here but the benefits of making friends here will surpass absolutely anything else here on myLot!

Hi Surely friends are important on mylot. Even I was used to get many less responses when i was new. But after having lots of good friends(including you) I am getting quite good responses.. Even sometimes when i don't start a good discussion they always reply in them .. And if we having no friends here then it is possible that a good discussion also gets only few responses. So friends here are the best part of the mylot.

surekha: welcome madam: I think you were not present in mylot for quite a few days. If you have more friends you will get more mails and you will also have more responses from friends. I have 300+ friends. As on date I have 2048 mails to be attended to. I am busy in paper preparation and also answering doubts from candidates.

Hello surekha, There is no doubt friends always help you out,they support you in any situation.Thats right when you are new,unknown and have lesser friends you do get less responses but when you have lot of friends then the notification automatically goes to all of your friends and definitely chance of getting more responses increases.

I have many friends here on mylot and I still receive few responses and sometimes none. I think my max was 8 responses. I wish to one day be featured in top discussion, but I am not sure that I will. Also I give my best response to discussions yet I dont get that reward. But I still keep trying!! I do notice that many people dont pick a best response and the ones that do I am to late and they have already chosen someone.

Hi! Yes, having many friends would increase the chance of your discussion having more responses. Because when you start a discussion, myLot would send notifications to your friends that you started a discussion unless your friends have turned off their notifications for you. But I guess most people do not have the time to check out their friend list and manage their notifications so a lot of people still receive a lot of notifications when their friends start discussions. Also, it helps if you start a discussion under a popular interest or an interest with so many members. When you start a discussion under such an interest, many people will see it and thus, there's an increased chance for your discussion to have more responses.

hi surekharathi yes friends help and so does responding to all of us so your user name gets known and we start thinking we are going to respond to you as you have been oood in responding to us so it really does wo rk. oh I have to go low blood sugar,sorry bve.

Hi surekharathiji Well, for a discussion, friends at MyLot are not that essential. Remember when you started out here you had no friends. And still you got responses. Today, you might have hundreds on your friends list(there are profiles where you would find 1000s of friends) but not all friends respond to all our discussions. Yes, some friends are quite loyal (or whatever) and will respond to all discussions most of the times but again, I dont think that helps. But if your objective is to get responses, yes, a few friends do keep those hopes alive.

Not true! It's helps to refer friends but don't depend on those! You get more satisfaction by contributing to comments!

Surekha, we may have lots of friends here at Mylot, but that doesn't assure us that all of them will respond to our every discussion. People differ in their opinions and in their interests. Hence, maybe the the topics you started were not of interest to them, so they skipped it and moved to other topics that interests them. I am like that, i choose the topics, not because of the friends who started it actually.

Yes, I have experienced this one too. If you have few mylot friends you only got few responds. I joined here in mylot for 3 months now and I am enjoying a lot. Before I only got 4-6 responses and now i got almost 40 responses for having 150 freinds...

I partly agree with your viw . I got good responses to some of my discussions even though I had just joined because the topics were thought provoking and interesting at the same time . The headings should also be catchy and one thing which I realised after discussing with fellow mylotters is that I should keep on replying back to comments on my topics to keep the discussion flowing . Definitely an added advantage is that of friends . As you can see the topics on your homepage of your friends you tend to respond them . So if your friend list keeps growing responses can come flowing .

Yes I think friends are important on sites like mylot. Because that way you get handy discussions to reply to otherwise one has to search a lot for finding a discussion to reply to, which could be very time taking and hectic at times. Also when you start your own discussions you can count on your friends to reply in them. It doesn't mean though, that you cannot survive on mylot without friends but yeah you would have to put much more time and effort to make a reputation and get good earnings..just what I've noticed! :)

Indeed friends are key factor in success of this site. If we have more friend we recd more response on our topics as well as we will recd. more topics to response. But it is hard work to comments on all response. If you received 60 response, how you were handle these.

Yes,you are right.,there is a major role in friends to increase our disscussion's responses.., but if we want earnings we must do work here much..!

so true the more friends you have the more responses you will get for your discussions, cause my lot sends a message with mail to your friends when you make a discussion.

I think if you look at the money you are right, the benefit can be very little. If you look to improve your English, if you want to improve your ideas talking with people there is a big benefits. I believe that communication, to change ideas, to improve a language, skills, so on, there is a really advantage. I am not sure about online friends. There are a lot. We can help each others somehow by internet. To be honest my big benefits is to have all the time good friends who really enjoy to talk, to communicate with me. Who know?
