START OF GAME:
-quelling blade (for last hitting, coz your a carry)
-stout shield (to tank some of that harassment)
MID GAME:
-poor mans shield (if you feel your being harassed too much get this)
-power treads (str for ganks, agi for farming)
-diffusal blade (diffusal a squishy then throw down a smoke=gg)
LATE GAME:
You can get pretty much anything for late game, some suggestions:
If you need more MS and stats-manta stye
If you need more dmg, att spd, evasion-butterfly, mkb
If you need more survivability-vlads,hearts

Rikimaru is a n agility type of hero and is also a designated killer and finisher of the team. Go for the best damaging item suitable for him. I think putting in a Butterfly is awesome on him. Also try fielding in Radiance to damage opponents while you are stalking them invisibly. Also, most killers use Manta Style with their item builds. Just always be ready when the enemy buys a Gem of True Sight. I really don't play him much. Those suggestions are just from what I frequently observed from my co players and opponents regarding Rikimaru item builds.

Yeah you're right, Rikimaru is a killer thats why i love to use that hero and his invisibility skill. Yes butterfly is a great damage =) plus radiance i think gem would be useless if i have that kind of item LOL!..thank you agentgulaman!

But always remember. Playing DOTA requires team work and team play. Even if you already got overpowered items, it is not a guarantee that you will win the battle. I saw and encountered many games that has an overpowered hero with almost completed builds and items but still lost due to the inability to cooperate with teammates. You'll surely die if your enemies got a Gem of True Sight and you are up against a number of other heroes and you are only one. Except of course if those players are all newbies and feeders.

I think one of the best items that you can use for this hero is Sange and Yasha. You can also use Vladmirs for life steal skill. Moreover, you can use the diffusal blade for additional agility of this hero.

Rikimaru is one of those heroes that's really hard to build up. Before, I personally use the Butterfly build but its really hard to farm using this hero so I stick with the Manta Build. Here's a quick quide on Rikimaru for reference:

thanks a lot for that wonderful suggestions, i haven't tried manta on Rikimaru yet, but ill try to use it =).Yes your right building butterfly will take sometime but its really good when you have it.

Hi Mar!
If you want to play rikimaru you only Need Damage and Attackspeed items like first of all try to make powerthreads then Mask of Madness... Then increased more movespeed with yasha then double slow him with your smokescreen and sangeyasha's maim ability... Next go for the Butterfly or Cranium basher if you like to go alone...

well builds depend on your enemy so you could get an advantage :)
oh yeah try to play lycantrophe sometimes.. lycan most games own when he get to lvl 16 and got lifesteal+bahser+snY :P and go agressive on your enemies and farm like hell if you want :)

It depends on what enemy you're dealing with. Rikimaru is not recommended on a 5 on 5 match only works best in 2 on 2 or 3 on 3. The butterfly and manta works great with rikimaru or sange yasha as well. But over all it really depends on who you're dealing with.

You can try my build. Treads ,2 wraith band, mask of madness,basher , bkb , butter fly. Have fun on the map man, see you there!

it depends on what type of game you are on. is it early game? mid game ? or late game. it has many factors depending on the situation you are in. try to mix items and invent suitable for your enemy. quelling blade is very important especially when buying your first item so that you can farm like hell. you also needs a support hero for that because it is hard for a hitter like rikimaru to have no support heroes. some i usually saw on what the items of the players buy with that hero is, treads, madness, basher, butterfly. you can invent items though.
