good day dear fellow mylotters,
now a days, securing for your safety is a must. aside from the main door lock, you must also put a double lock or additional lock on your door. just like what my friend have done to his studio type home. wherein, aside from the one which was already installed, he asked a separate carpenter to install another door lock for his safety and security. eventhough there is a security guard roving on the premises.

hi,
now a days everyone should be aware and be safe to their home,in our home we have an extra door lock and we usually use this especially when i and my family go to the province, and aside from that there are many people in our compound that we trust so when we are away for just how many hours we only lock our door with a safe door lock.

Friend I not used any extra lock for our safty because my dever not sleep till late night 2 O' clock or 3 O'clock he watching movie till late night and wake up at late morning so extra lock is not necessary. But when our FIL and MIL is not in house means sometime out of station then we used extra lock for security. When only me and my husband is in my home.

My door has only one lock but we also have a gate so I somehow feel secure here in my apartment. Plus, there were no reports whatsoever of any thievery here so I think I'll be okay.

I do have an extra lock at my door. But, I have to say that is very rare to me to use this extra lock. Not because I live in a safe city, but most of the times, I forget to lock the door.

It is good to take cautions to safeguard our home or our workplace, because precaution is better than regretting later. In todays life we never knw wat will happen wen nor can we predict so i agree with u that securing for our safety is a must in todays life and we too do this wen ever we are out.

Nice question or discussion friend I not put extra lock for my door because in our house no one can sleep till late night 1 O'clock so extra lock is not necessary. We sleep only for 5 hours and in our house no gold no silver so no tension.

airasheila,
On top of having good locks for my main door and gate, I have taken the burden of installing an anti burglar alarm and panic alert system which is connected to a private security company.
The system will analyze the alert and follow up accordingly like calling the police when a panic alarm is set off and checking on us when the break in alarm sets off. I feel that good locks and even doors may prevent certain break ins but we can never know how perpetrators can gain access into our homes. So, a comprehensive security system like mine does help in most cases.

When my husband and I moved into our house we changed the locks. We have a front door and a basement door and there are two locks on each door. The woman who lived here before had only one lock on each door and the locks weren't very strong, so we decided to change them. It is was quite expensive, but it is worth it, because it much harder to break into the house now. We also have a dog and he is a good watchdog, he immediately reacts if there is someone outside.

We have some pretty impressive looking locks on the door! It's a rented flat so we didn't install them. The problem is that the keys are so damn big!
The locks are probably impossible to cut through. But quite honestly, the keys don't look that difficult to make. There are still lots of stories where thieves entered the house just using a screwdriver, so are these locks really any good?

Yes, in my apartment before I have a separate double lock aside from the door knob. Also, I have there like a separate door gate made of metal bars with its corresponding lock. While in our home, we usually have screen doors with lock on all our doors. You shouldn't compromise security as I have already seen a lot of houses already robbed during the wee hours or when the criminals know there is no one home in the area. They are quite rampant today now. Everybody should be cautious and think of security.

Double locks are essential nowadays, you'll never know how people will act. Even if there's a guard roaming around or if your neighbors are close, bad guys will find a way to enter your home if they really want to. Having an extra security on the house is not a bad thing especially if you have a family to protect.

I do have double locks in every door, main door and back door.
Even in room doors, I also have double lock inside.
There is nothing wrong with it,it's for security purposes.
We can never tell how safe our home...so being cautious is not bad at all.
have a good day

Me and my family do not feel we need to add any type of extra security such as extra locks, or security systems. We feel that we live in a safe enough area that we do not need extra safety precautions.
We have been living in the same place for over 18 years, and have not had one break in or suspicious activity. People in our neighborhood tend to keep to themselves.
