Do You Think There Is Any Pain In The World Worse Than Child Birth?

Something I have been told by many is that child birth is the worst pain in the world (although it is worth the pain). Do you think this is true?
I have never experienced child birth, or any other horrible pain, so I really can't say.
What do you think is the worst pain in the world if it isn't child birth?
Let's discuss!

OMG..other responses gave me chills about child birth! I am also not a mother yet but I know some people who told me it's the worst pain. One would be my sister who is not planning to have another baby after her first delivery because she says she cannot manage to bear such pain again. And second is one of my close friends who described it as really really unbearable pain...unfortunately she had some problems too after her delivery.Btw, both of them had normal deliveries. I guess, perhaps Cesarian delivery would be less painful?

Yes, a C-section can be less painful because they can't just cut into the mother to get the baby, she has to be medicated..Problem with C-sections, even with today's technology, having it natural one heals a lot quicker..I was up and cleaning within a day after giving birth, but with a C-section, the woman is laid out a little longer...

I think cesarean would be less painful, for the simple fact that you are not having to push it out of such a tiny space!
A teacher of mine once told me that giving birth was like squeezing a watermelon through your nostril!

Yeah, the healing process is a bit longer with a C-section (a couple weeks or so). Natural birth requires only a couple days healing most of the time.

Yes, it was said that child birth is so painful.
But i was lucky, because even if i delivered my daughter through a normal delivery without being injected for an anesthesia, i didn't feel so much pain.
Even my labor pains were bearable. I just don't know why it wasn't that painful, and to think that i was already nearing 30 when i gave birth.
i guess, i was just lucky.

My personal thoughts and after having two children, is that once we endure labor we can easily tolerant any type of pain. Yes I do feel that childbirth is the worse pain ever. It is like your entire insides are being ripped apart. lol
Having been in labor with my first for 33 hours, I can tell someone a thing or two about pain. I think this has afforded me to tolerate just about any type of pain. Now while I feel that other pains are unbearable, somehow it does not compare to the birthing pains.
I get chronic headaches daily and lots of migraines, while I feel that my head wants to explode daily, main reason I am able to tolerate it is that I know what pain feels like and usually am able to bear through it.

Yes I have known pain my entire life and oddly it has allowed me to be stronger. Though I am human and can feel and also be weakened by it from time to time, somehow I have developed a stubbornness to bear through it and hope it goes away.

I think there is pain worse than childbirth. I feel that those who suffer from chronic pain from different disease is worse than childbirth. Childbirth does hurt, but it comes to an end. There are people who experience chronic pain everyday and have done so for years. I would rather have a child every year than go through pain like that.

True.
However, I was thinking more along the lines one single thing that hurts, rather than something that hurts you everyday like a chronic illness. For example, some guys say that getting hit in the (you know) hurts worse than child birth! Haha!
But, what you said is definitely true. Child birth happens, then it's done... but chronic pain is an everyday thing.

this is the only thing i can offer to this discussion, because i've never had a child..
but i have my nipple pierced. and my nose pierced. and i have alot of tattoo's, including one in the middle of my foot, and two on my collar bones.. but i have a fairly high pain threshold. like my partner cannot understand how i can simply sit there and have a conversation with someone tattooing me lol!
but i took my partners sister, whos also a best friend to me, to get her nipple pierced. she'd always wanted it done, but had only ever know her male friends to have it done, and had no female friends to have it done.. so when me and my partner met, and she learnt i had it done, she asked me loads of questions and decided to go. now i thought it was pretty painless and it surprised me how little it hurt when i got it done..
so off we went. she screamed the place down. she says it was the worst pain she has ever experienced in her life, and that it was worse than child birth, and she'd rather have another child, than ever get her other nipple pierced, or that one pierced again if it ever closed over.. whereas i thought it didn't really hurt that much at all, about as bad as a bad nip and thats about all.
so there you go. who knows really? either she exaggerated, or child birth'll be a breeze for me lol!

I am not a mom yet and one of my fear is really going to labor. I used to ask my mom what she had to go through when I was born. She said it is not easy and it is painful. She can't exactly put into words the feeling. She said she is scared because it was her first time and she is excited because at last after 9 months she will finally see me. She said labor is painful, but the moment she hears me crying and that moment she finally have me in her arms, the pain were gone and there was only happiness...
I think that there is something more painful than giving birth... Giving birth and other sort of operation are constituted with physical pain, emotional pain is more painful... After an operation like giving birth, the pain will go away after a few days rest... but emotional pain like a loss of a loved one does not heal that fast...

Childbirth hurts alot and i agree it is unlike a common pain that you can get used to but i don't think that it's the most painful thing in the world. There are things much worse than childbirth in my opinion the nasty thing, that thugs do! like having bones broken or teeth knocked out.

I never been through to this pain too, so, I can't say much about that. But, I study Medicine and I know that when we are with a woman patient, most of them tell us that the worst pain is the pain of the child birth. On men, this pain is compared with the pain of kidney stones.

Child birth is a painful thing but a really bad tooth pain is pretty bad to
