Hi Fellas, A quick query, I am planing to start a blog which will have all the content related to news, entertainment, internet etc. However, I keep Browsing MSN, Yahoo, Rediff. Can i copy an article and put a reference at the end of the post that "it is copyrighted material of rediff.com" or may be something similar. Please advice.

Best to follow what dark_joev recommended if you want to do this. So basically, if you find some news you like, simple commentate on it by writing a couple paragraphs in your own words, and the publish it with on your blog and give a link back to the main article. Now this method could do you some good because your blog now has original content, plus it is newsworthy and links to authority sites.

I have heard of some bloggers that did this in the past. The news sites didn't take it very well and pursued legal action against those bloggers. So yes, this is a bad idea unless of course you want to go to court and lose money. :) Ethically to, this is a bit low. It is trying to profit of someone else's labor like a parasite. I know that sounds nasty but it's the way I see it.

People might have copy pasted the whole content. But i want to credit the article. The whole point is i read many websites, not all the content is convincing or worth catchy. But few yes, i would like to share the same.

Well that sounds a bit better. I still warn you though - even though you may credit the original author there is always going to be those few that don't take it well and decide to do something. :)
