Hi friends and lotters
Ever since I have joined this MyLot, I have learned many things and overcame many fears. I became more social, more concerne and above all, my friend (the offline ones) who believed that they were IMPORTANT now just dont matter. In a sort, MyLot has become my place, my family and I have many better and great relationships existing here than anywhere else.
I learned to use emoticons - tutor:Saphrina
I learned to start interactions with an emoticon - tutor LetranKnight
I learned to be polite and put things as per my knowledge and take responsibilty for my responses - tutor:mysdianait
I learned to repsond to all who commented on my discussions - tutor:Sreekala
... the list seems endless. And growing with each day...
Everyday I log in to MyLot to learn and know more. Maybe my hunger for knowledge, or lust for politeness or whatever but everyday I have learned something new. Can you share what has been your learning experience with MyLot?
Missed you all
Cheers
Sid.

Yes, I have learned a lot since I became a member here. I have made good friends, shared experiences, laughed, cried, worried about and help to comfort many of my friends. I am still learning. In fact, just today I learned that four minutes of laughter equals one hour of relaxation. I still have one question about that, though, after all that relaxing laughter why do I want to take a nap?

I learned it in this discussion of course ... who would I have received a PM from that would have told me that? I actually do laugh more when I am tired, but how did you know that? Not only do I laugh more, but I tend to ramble on talking about random things that may or may not make sense to others. {insert "whistle" and "lol" emoticons here}

dear sids,
And...you are becoming a poet
I've learned a lot of things here.
And, like I've always wrote when I encountered same question like this is
.....mylot is my shock absorber....
I can express my feelings here freely.
Inter-act with friends and have fun.
I've learned to love, yes....to love my friends and my family here in mylot and that includes you as my dear bhai.
have a great weekend (^_^)

Hi di
Well, I have learnt more about love from your so valuable discussions. I have always mentioned that and yes, my dear di is quite a loving and caring person. I have seen you use Mylot as a shock absorber and I have also learned how to be so open from my dear di. I remember the discussion from you where your hubby and you had broken up. That really made me realize the good side of this site as a shock absorber

Hi thesids!
Yes I have learn a great deal on myLot and something I will forever and eternally be grateful for. When I first came here, life offline began it's course of destruction. I was at a point where I could not be helfpul to anyone offline as I could not help myself. I had become this really enclosed person for which I could not socialize with anyone offline. During my immense struggles I have been very appreciative that at least here I can log in and put aside my worries, most times while logged in.
Yes every single day I do feel that I do learn something new, as from the beginning of my journey in learning the differences in cultures, ways, traditions have and are continually growing. Here on myLot most members are so patient and gracious to teach us with such grace all of their wonderful happenings and sorrows too. I have learned that with our own life experiences we can help with some humble advice that can make a world of a difference to someone's life. The entire learning process I have undergone and still ongoing as a member here teaches me that although so many of us are not within reach, there is no such thing as not being able to as humans to reach out to others.
Something I will miss whole heartedly someday if and when I no longer can come here, I am very grateful thesids for having virtually met you and so many others during my time here. It was like a time in my life that brought me here for a purpose and I so appreciate it and will never forget it.

Hi my GF
I missed you a lot as I had no discussion for a while and also there were less interactions between us during the very recent past. I have learned many things from you and you have helped me become a much better person. I had a discussion where I had asked about how Mylot helped the lotters and you had responded with sharing a discussion from you(about your problems). I had read that earlier but did not post and that made me feel bad as you did read all the responses, commented to all and I was thinking who responses to comments at page 3 or 4 (how stupid of me). Then you mentioned Ms Hatley who helped you in resolving these issues. I learned to be a fighter like you as I saw yur problems more severe than mine.
The next I must mention is - learn to care for friends. Remember the PM you sent out to me about writersedge? It was something I never thought of happening in the online world where I was told that everything is virtual. I admire you for this and leanred to be caring from heart for all online friends too

I learned that this is the only forum I've been in that I can actually earn from and/or make friends with people from all over the world. It's also the only forum I've been in that has people who actually respect each other and are informative about anything.

Hi franne
Well, I wont agree that MyLot is a forum as we dont have a few categories here. Neither does any forum allow you to discuss almost everything under its banner. But yes, it is one my favorite places on the Internet. I am free to make friends, hold parties, share my ups and downs and that makes it special. I know the responses may or may not be there but they definitely would stand up for me and all others... we are a community... an Extended Family now.

Yes.
That--no matter how many times you tell them the way they understand something is totally wrong--they will STILL base their future interactions UPON that understanding ... as if its system is unbroken in their minds.
The main example of this is 'money.' If you go to a discussion on how much money people are 'making' from a program, and explain THE TRUTH about money (that it's all A GIFT---that the 'earning' they think they are doing is merely 'asking for more of The Gift in a special way'); they'll disregard it as if you were 'singing a song,' and go on fooling themselves into believing that they DESERVE the gift.

Hi mythociate
Hmmm... that seems to be quite true and I feel the newer generation is more towrds this... as for the oldies, I think we have come to realize that the Gift is just a Gift and something that comes with hard work and dedication
A great piece of advice I see in your response.

Hello thesid,
I do not say I have no learnt thing here. Specially friends and the friends who we are heavily closer.
Unlike you I do not have a long list of 'tutors' but a few of them ( names not disclosed )
Another thing I learned is that at mylot there are people with excellent writing skills and too poor too. I am specially happy that some of the users who would make gross mistake in the composition are now.
Long Live Mylot

Arey chhotu, its alright. Many Indian lotters here came and left or were in pause for sometime and I have never thought of deleting my name from the pages of mylot.
Some came on horse, some on chariot, some came and blown their trumpet and when saw things are not what they had though of, stealthily pulled themselves out.
However I do not wish to comment on people leaving the site following some hot exchange of words and quit mylot for-good.
Out of so many Indians you caught my attention and both as mylotters and as country cousin relation we made ourselves friends.
In between you went to the back seats it seemed something unpleasant must have gone across some users here and you. and you never told what was the reason. I quote here one of the sonnets of Shakespeare where he frankly said "...love is not love that alters when it alteration finds...".

My brother, I wish all people had the composition and deportment of your like. Well, you mentioned what you have learned being one of the family members of such a big family.
The humility you carry along with you is an asset for all of us to possess. I should not mind if many hands fiddling to steal your bearings. Just mind that you have more people standing by your side and very less on the opposite.
I do not know why I have been honored with a BR in such a long discussion.
Thanks a lot.
Rajiv.

Hi rajib da
Yes, MyLot is wonderful if you are so open and willing to learn and I can understand your not-naming the tutors. But I have learned something from you - Remember the discussion where I mentioned to you that I have a goal to make others smile and you mentioned that you only see a girl coming out from somewhere - I tried and was successful in bringing smiles on to your face. I learned that it is not that difficult goal after all and I can pursue it. Till that time, we were not friends and you had that green dress on your avatar. Soon we became friends and then one day you told me to address you as dada and we have been related since then

I appreciate your being open to learning like me. I too find Mylot a place to learn and share things. A few years back I was quite low and depressed, with only a handful of friends. But now, I am more positive in my outlook and have a healthy set of friends - so what if they are mostly distant physically, - I am sure we all are closer at heart and this Feeling makes the experience worthy

Sorry, I might sound quite ridiculous but do you know someone by the username fjaril? Actually this is one of my frieds here at mylot and is from Sweden. He has been offline since last year and I am worried about him, I dropped a few Messages too but he has not responded back. So I keep asking to people / lotters from sweden with a hope that someday someone would say Yes I know him and he is doing fine.
Sorry again to be sounding crazy and I know it is not that polite of me but I think you would understand and excuse me if it sounds insane.

Hi dearest friend pergammano
I missed you as I knew you were busy and occupied with other works at hand. Good to see you here.
Yes, I too remember that the last appearance from him was in Feb. I go to his profile every month, see that he logged in but as he never responds to the PMs I am worried about him. He did tell me about the sad loss of his wife and actually I learned to appreciate Life and Love more because of him.
I hope and pray he is all okay and will soon turn up somewhere on the discussions and we wull be back in touch. This time I will ask him his email or chat IMs so that we can stay in touch.

Hello there! I learned so many things in mylot. As I have been telling, mylot is my friend, family and I have gained many good friends here. I used to have unlimited access at home, now that we have no internet, I still find a way to fit in my schedule even just to check it here in mylot.
I am so glad that the person who introduced me to mylot keeps on insisting that I try it here. Hoestly, mylot name alone has no appeal to me. I though it is just a "game site". When I registered, I didn't easily participated in discussions. Now, I can't last the day without checking it here. Again, I learned and gained many things here. :)

Hi bluespygirl
Hey that sounds like my story since the past few months...lol
We had shifted to a new place and there was no internet until yesterday when we got a datacard. I had to use the services at a local cafe but being ill and forced to stay at home, I could not do that regularly.
A Game Site did you try out the fun stuff games section? I too did that when I had joined. Worst was the quizzes experience when one day it came up with a result I was Pregnant - maybe it forgot that my gender is Male...
I think now you have come to have a better understanding of this amazing world of MyLot and am sure we would meet on several other discussions...
Looking forward to meeting you soon

Do you know that I have my di(sister) there, and several other great friends from that place? Unfortunately I have some health issues since the past so many long years... But still you never know, if luck favors and the determination continues, I am quite hopeful to surprise you all there

Thanks for beginning this interesting discussion.

Oh that is quite unfair. MyLot always believes in hrmonious relations and never agrees to criticism or rebuke. In case that has happened you can surely mention this to the GAA (GoAskAlice) and also ask other senior friends on how to cope up with this.
btw, I see quite a postive friend in you. People with such open mindedness are quite rare around in the real world for me.

Hi the!
It is indeed a learning platform and those who are willing to learn new things have no dearth of (mylot) tutors. I do hope that whose names you have mentioned as 'tutors' would be very glad to see their names here. Since I joined mylot I have seen many changes. Your emoticons point reminds me that when I started, there were no such facility and it was introduced later on. In the initial years, I observed that there were select few who used to post comments and counter comments. Many lotters were just contend with posting responses and they would never return for posting comments. For me mylot has indeed been a revelation, it taught me many such things which I would have never learnt or experienced in my real life. It is a sea of knowledge and it has enhanced my knowledge to many folds and I keep learning every new day. My self confidence has increased tremendously since I joined mylot. Now in real life I can discuss any issue with ease and élan from the knowledge acquired from mylot friends. I am thankful to all mylot friends who met me on my journey here. I feel without meeting them, my life would have remained incomplete.

Exactly my views and I am quite happy that a senior member like you still believes in this.
As we all interact here, the closeness we start to have and build upon is primarily because of the discussions that also give us a glimpse of the sadness that we may have and as they say - real friends stand by you in time of need, the real friendships start too with such unhappy instances

Hi dear Sids! Missed you buddy!
Mylot is one site I will never ever forget Sids,it's one site I will always tresure when online life is concern. It is here where I met good people from different countries and learned their cultures too. I was able to learn many online job sites where I am in now and I'm so thankful for it,really.
When I was new here,a fellow Filipina mylotter taught me some pointers about how to make my profile and some ways on how to earn here but sadly,I don't see her anymore here. Another mylotter who's also a friend in triond taught me many ways on how mylot works but sadly again, his account here was suspended, don't know what went wrong,he didn't even know why. I learned about the emoticons from Letran and I was so happy the first time I was able to use it,lol! I also learned some pointers from Mr Owlings. Oh my,so endless! I think almost all of mylotters taught me some things in big and simple ways.
I also learned something from you Sids and that's how I should cherish a friend here and treat them like my family. You are one of my dearest here Sids, will cherish you forever. Take care friend. I may not be always in your discussion but you will forever be in my list of my dear friends.

I have learned to love my wife more from you. I remember the discussions when you mentioned to be away from MyLot just because your hubby was arriving on his vaccation. And then another thing - your monsoon discussion wherein I mentioned about my accident and the soap bath - that did connect me to my past and I am thankful for that. Hello thesids, there are so much that I learn from mylot I dont think I can mention it one by one. Im not yet an active member to participate in discussion but im here most of the time because im still learning English so I take most of my time to read, I know that I wont get any earning by reading but thats not a matter for me after I get better reading skill then I would start to practice writing to share my feeling or experience by responding to discussion. So many people here sharing their lifes, their experience, asking question, solving problem and I can learn from them.
Talking about mentor, my greatest mentor is mydianait. Her discussion has helped me to get better understanding of mylot, what is the use of star, rating, search bar, etc. And so many members here has taught me how to deal with life problem or to be a strong person by reading their discussion.

Hi fashionfever
Welcome to MyLot. I am quite certain that if you are around for learning, you are at the right place. You can learn not only to improve English, writing styles but you will also learn a great deal about the cultures, thoughts and views of people on issues from across the globe.
Mysdianait is one of those 3 MyLotters who have made the place much better. I wonder what mylot would have been without them... maybe a dry desert or even some place where you have all brains but no heart. These 3 lotters are the soul of MyLot. You are lucky and blessed to be under her guidance.

That is the greatness of these people I mentioned - they are all so very talended yet so humble. I cannot even think that they would ever be un-friendly.

Hi again, I invited my best friend who is also my tutor to join mylot. It is a nice place to learn but I cannot deny that the earning is quiet impressive. We are not in hurry to earn money but my friend and I have plan to save our earning for our 2013 trip plan, and I have a big faith with mylot.
Actually Im a shy person and at first I was hesitated to asked for help to mysdianait I was afraid to annoy her, but she responded my message and assisted me, she is a friendly person. No words can describe her amazing personality.

Hi catamari
Oh, a newbie too has something to teach if the oldies are open and I am quite sure that the oldies are open to learning too. I too want that MyLot must get the new faces and these new faces should come up with valuable discussions wherein we all can learn.
Unfortunately, technically it would be quite difficult to implement the voice as I am sure you would hav found by now that there are people from almost all countries around. And the Internet Services are not that great everywhere to enable the Voice- the bandwidth issues. But still, we never know when MyLot admins come up with this great idea

You are right. There are many countries yet where the internet is not too fast. Or even some people who use only mobilephone to access internet. I think to communicate by writting is yet very useful. A good points in writting English is there you can improve your grammar and writing skils. Maybe Mylot can remain without voice. Writing communication is different from voice talking. I think there we can practice writing English more. There are online enough free softwares which can be used online. Some of them are even accessible with lower internet conections.
