i noticed the text beside the name in the discussions. and all of those i noticed, it was always thousands in ranking out of tens of thousands of participants.
it must feel good if i were even on top 100.
but are there even mylotters who have a #1 rank in any of the interests? i'm just curious.

Ranks have to do with participation in a certain interest from what I have heard. But I may be wrong, because I´m not very much interested in my rank, my star or how much I earn. I´m more interested in acquiring friends and knowldge and having fun.
Happy posting!

hello there, marguicha. like you, i am also not that interested in those. i'm just curious, that's all. since i still consider myself a newbie, i have yet to notice and master the different tabs and apps and whatnot on a mylot page.
anyway, somehow i got a feeling that it really depends on the amount of participation. but was it only in quantity, or does the star somehow affect it?
thanks

Mylot pays for the quality of participation, not for the quantity. That´s what makes it a very interesting site as you learn things from whatever interests you have. The star is given by other mylotters who like or dislike your post or answer specially. The color of the star (and its number) helps to earn more or less.

yes, i know that the quality is what really matters. however, i think that the quantity is also a factor. with respect to probability, the more comments, the higher chance we could get a high rank. right?
maybe we might as well make up with quantity if our discussions don't seem to be that interesting enough.
anyway, it's always nice to hear from those who has knowledge so as to improve mine as well. thanks!

well, maybe it's the anxiety that we would be left out. i had a discussion that had zero response, so i how that feels.. i don't aim to be number one, but it helps on my improvement if i would.
anyway, i am hoping that i could make a more interesting discussions (and comments) as i spend more time here in mylot.

Hello Dear Murkie! Yes, there must be some one every interest leading and acquiring the number position! But I am no the one of them! Yes, but in a couple of areas I am within first 20 and in many others I am doing pretty well as far as my level of participation is concerned! It takes lot of efforts, hard work and sincerity in attending the forum and making the posting consistently in a given topic of discussion, to have a better level of participation! Well, under all circumstances, either to have a good star rating or to be in leader board we should manage to post some quality discussions and responses and they should be really appealing ones to the members so that you the popularity of the member is maintained! Thanks for the discussion and I loved participating in it! All the best!!!!

hello akrao. thanks for the warm compliment.
i agree with you that to reach the #1 rank, lots of effort, hard work and sincerity is needed, as in all other endeavor. i just only wish that i would have those qualities to last.
so is it only the quantity that is needed to top the rank, or my star would have to do something with it? i did not notice i have to vote on something, so i guess that's out of the question.
anyway, thanks again for the compliment, advice, and appreciation!

Yes a dear friend in this discussion actually is at the moment ranked number one. She deserves it as she is really active and always applies quality to all her participation. We all at one time and or another rank in all interests, hopefully all members simply continue to participate with quality and by recieving ratings amongst all participants they continue to escalate and the ranking boards.

yes, i wish i would have that determination (and endurance). hopefully all of mylotters would.
the problem is, some of the things which may seem interesting to me would not be interesting enough to anybody else. i guess, it's in how you present the topic that's necessary rather than the topic itself. oh, and having to know a lot of people helps too.
