Sometimes we just have to admit defeat.

There are many things in life that we do, that we try and try, but truthfully we are just beating our head into a wall, hitting dead end after dead end. Often times there are circumstances beyond our control that is causing us to hit these walls. Perhaps there are things that we are never meant to do. Granted, I don't like to give up but sometimes, we're going to be defeated. Maybe in due time, we can return, with the knowledge of any mistakes we made, and succeed in the future, with a fresher head and experience. We can't always win and in fact we might gain something more of value from losing in a way. Its that nagging feeling sometimes that does keep us going, as we cannot help but think we would have cleared the mark with one more try. With that in mind, sometimes we just have to admit that something is out of our hands. There is no shame in failure, as like as we gave everything we had to succeed. We just got to roll with the punches.

When I was in my previous company, I yelled at my own boss for being a jerk. I knew I will be sacked in the end so I planned ahead before I did that. I made sure he doesn't have any power to immediately fire me and found out that the human resources will be passing on the paperworks to the real boss. I talked to one of my friends in the HR department and told him I might do something stupid, and if I did, that he take care of it. In a nut case, I still got defeated in small runs because I received failing stats for quality assurance (my immediate boss made sure of that) but in the long run, no one really won. Both of us got sacked: me for exhibiting violent behavior and him (my immediate boss) for not following standard quality assurance measures for numerous counts.

Indeed situations like that where everyone gets taken down in the end. In the end, no one really wins but really no one truthfully loses as well. There are going to be a lot of cases out there like that. It does seem like people getting set up to fail is only going to cause the person doing the setting up for failing. In the end, the boss got his, even though you kind of lost. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yep, we have to think first before we act because sometimes that's the best way to win the war with only a knife in hand.

Life's not all about winning, and it would be really boring if it is. :) But, I'm scared of giving my best and end up losing. It would really suck big time.

Life would in fact be boring. It is really something that is not a good situation when we throw everything that we have and still come out short. It really makes us second guess ourselves and leads to our self esteem being being sliced. Still there are going to be positives and negatives in life. That much is for certain. Its what we do with the situation that is going to be the true measure of who we are. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Admitting defeat somehow degrades your pride or your self-confidence. But remember that... "A great man is always willing to be little." Be humble.

It can be a huge hit for sure a lot of the time. Our pride can be damaged we we are going to really get knocked around in life. And let's face it, there are a lot of times where life can be humbling. We just got to know when its time to fold. Time to go back and focus on another thing. Again perhaps one day, we shall return and life will be grand. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I agree with you. If you really can't succeed on that one task, you don't have to push yourself too hard because maybe it's not in your capability to be successful in that one and you'll just have to give up eventually.

So very true. There are just many things that are going to be out of our hands. So many things that are really beyond what we can do. Not that we have not tried. And not that we cannot succeed once again in the future. That point cannot be understated enough. However, we are going to really just need to take a step back. Take that deep breath and some day, we are going to return. Just move onto something else and maybe we'll revisit that in the future. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes i agree that sometimes we just hav to accept defeat but i would say we should still not give up and keep trying until we succeed because everytime we defeat we learn more from our mistakes and trying is better than giving up because every try makes us a little more perfect than the before one.

Indeed it is just a temporary retreat in many ways. Just to give us time to figure out what went wrong. Sometimes going back in with a fresh mind and being able to really deal with the situation is going to assist us with getting most of everything done. Sometimes however we are going to be frustrated and there are times where its just a temporary defeat. Some day we may yet succeed, gaining perspective, and learning from our mistakes. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
