When the assassin forgets he is a killer...

A bump on the head, sometimes that all it takes for one to lose his memory... There might not be any serious cause of alarm to it, because memory gradually comes back, but not if one is an assassin.
Such is the case of Dr. Martin Harris, a biologist about to speak about the possibility of corn growth in a Berlin conference. He sets out to do his job and finds himself in the midst of the Unknown.... all because the assassin forgets he is a killer.
Starring Liam Neeson, an actor in my favorite list. Watch the Unknown, simply because you just have to know. Then update me...

The moment I read the first couple of lines, I knew for sure you were pertaining to The Unknown. I have a copy of it but still don't find time to watch it. The fact that it's starring Liam Neeson is enough for me. I like how he acts and how handsome he is. He reminds me of Sean Connery.
Unfortunately, watching the trailer itself made me picture the entire story especially when Liam Neeson said , "I remember."

Teasers are real spoilers, most of the time... but I still enjoy movies... in fact, when I watch, there are so many interesting details I did fail to grasp the first time I watched... so I do hope you enjoy this movie, too.

A great review of the movie! I have also seen this movie and i liked it a lot. I don't think i know i've seen any other movies with Liam Neeson? Atleast not realising who he was anyway... can you suggest anymore movies with this star?
Yes i think that Unknown is a good watch and your review is very spot on!

I haven't seen that movie yet. It sounds like it has a good plot. Understanding the human nature is not easy. But when you get to watch these kind of movies, you would have a glimpse on how the mind works. I believe people have different reactions to different situations. Having the wisdom to choose the right thing over what is convenient is seldom seen nowadays, much more with a criminal mind.
Thanks for this discussion topic. Have a nice day.

I did believe once that our minds are stagnant when we watch movies, all because we simply absorb what is being fed us. Then I realized that I really think when I watch movies, and I eliminate possibilities in the process... That's why I came to love movies. I was not just entertained, I was having fun analyzing the situation and predicting the outcome.

Lian Neeson is epic! I love him! One of my favorite actors.
I've seen the film and at the beginning, I believed that someone stole his identity and that he was actually a Doctor. I was shocked that he was actually an assassin. Very thrilling and unpredictable. I love movies like this. It's like Flightplan! You should watch it. It's about a woman who loses her daughter on a plane and everyone on the plane convinces her that she never had a daughter and that she was just imagining it.

When a person become an assassin, that person already forget he is a killer. As far as I know assassins do not just kill, they murder.
Many people could have killed other people brought about by anger - most oftentimes, in the protection of their family, principle, and honor. Sometimes there are convicted of homicide by defending themselves from the eminent attack.
But, to be an assassin is different. They are so different that it need to establish a strategic plan and set tactical maneuver when necessity arise. Moreover, the assassins shall study the movements of the target and attack only while the subject for assassination is caught flatfooted or unaware of the present danger. In the event of the misconstrue of plan A, apply plan B and so on. Whenever caught it was firmly advised to take the poison pill to show loyalty and courage to cause, rather than being caught.
In simple words, assassins are extreme remnants of paranoid-schizophrenic-cowards who wants people to fear them but they are so coward to face their own fear. With the recruit assassin's inability to comprehend its very own idea, the recruited assassin can settle his fear by inducing fear to its opponent and skiptic.
In the 3rd world countries most of this just work alone without any mission at all. Kill for few bucks or a couple of free drinks. But in developed countries, assassins are comfortably living as they make their financiers and tamers harness more riches from the opponents of their targets.

As in Day of the Jackal, I believe assassins are hired killers... they do it because it is their job.
I couldn't comment on your last paragraph. I have no idea at all about such lifestyles.

These types of amnesia movies are usually very predictable, but Unknown was a little more surprising. Of course, I figured it out about 30 minutes in, but that's because I remembered the preview of the movie that aired, when the lead character was fighting the guy and replied to him, "I didn't forget everything."
So once I figured out there were some big-time bad guys, I knew he had to be one of them.
But I didn't know about the fake wife bit. I seriously couldn't figure out what was going on there.
It was a good movie. I liked it.
That woman (I forget her name) is a good actor too. She was in Inglorious Basterds. Another great movie.

I didn't see any teaser for this movie, so I kinda enjoyed it. Somehow, I knew there was something wrong about the wife thing from the very beginning. That much I was able to predict...

I haven't seen the movie, but I have seen a lot of trailers or scenes from it. It looks like it would be really good. I have HBO and I hope it comes to TV and I can watch it there! Liam Neeson is one of my favorites also.

Liam is a character actor and he is really good. Unknown is one mind boggling movie, a bit suspenseful, but everything falls into place in the end... good watch.

Ha ha ha, you just spoiled the movie before telling everyone to watch the movie. Anyways yea, it was a very interesting movie, luckily I watched it before reading the title of this discussion. Plus Diane Kruger is really lovely. It was very well written, with a few bugs here and their. Like for example, if they wanted to kill him at the hospital, they easily could have just as that man with the glasses easily killed the nurses. I don't understand why they let it on for so long. I guess if they killed him early the movie wouldn't have been as long ha ha.

It was his brain child. Rodney had hoped his ace assassin could carry it out. So Rodney waited until he knew that they will run out of time....

I have seen Unknown and I liked watching this movie, it's a good one to watch.
Liam Neeson did a great job as the assassin who forgets who he really is and remembers himself as the cover he made for his last job, I loved the way the story is revealed, the movie is just great to watch ..
