Education is so importaant to our children. there are so many ways to educate our children in todays society with the help of so many internet sources. if a parent is considering enrollment in a child's education through the help of cyber schooling does the public school system you are in have the right to prevent that enrollment. share your thoughts and views on this please.

Thank you for that thought. i agree with you 100%. I believe that a child is more likely to achieve in learning when there are choices that will benefit them. Schools should not have the right to say how you go about the education of your child as long as the education is taking place.

Hi Sender,
Where I live, the parents do have the right to homeschool their children and I am almost certain that they may choose internet classes. The state closely monitors the child's grades and ciriculum (sp)to make sure that they are learning. I'm not sure of all the details or just how the state monitors these things but I believe that here it is perfectly legit. I'm so glad that our schools are realizing that not all kids learn the same way and some thrive better with alternative programs. It used to be either private school or public school. I actually think that home schooling has always been accepted but now there are even more options which is great. Also the public school system does work with the home schoolers to provide things like sports and other extra curricular activities that the child might otherwise miss out on.

Thank you for sharing your views and information. Education is so important to the development and growth of our children. having the best choices that we can is very beneficial. it is rewarding to know there are other options out there for us to choose from.

I don't think they have the right, no. But I would think that if they forsaw some reason why a certain child shouldn't be a part of cyber schooling they would voice it. I would hope that they would if they saw a problem. The school system has a right to voice any opinion they might have.

I think that all opinions should matter when it comes to a child's education. Seeing what would bebefit the child most should come to the forefront. Thanks for the response.

For years public school was the only opportunity for a child's education. Now with so many internet choices in learning available to us, this is not so anymore. do you think the public school system has the right to keep you from making the decision between public school and getting the child's education on line?

Of course not. Public schools don't have the right to interfere with your decision on where you want you kid to attend to. If you want your kid to take up online courses then it is solely your choice, not public schools.

Personally I feel and believe that an education for your child is one of the most important things that any child can do. Especially when they are younger and needing to learn the in ands out about life within this world. If this means Public, private or Home schooled it is often quite essential for sure.

sender 621 yes education is always important and if a parent sees the school she is supposed to send her children to is not adequate surely she has some other choices. Iknow here in California they give parents a bad time if they refuse to send their children to the schools they feel they should go to unless a parent can afford private schools . I know from what I have seen here on the net that a lot of mylot parents are home schooling their children, and if its because the schools are not adequate where they are more power to them.I feel as a senior citizen that the parents should have the right to send their kids wherever they feel is best for their education.

Thank you for sharing your opinions and sharing some valuabel insight. i believe that a parent should not feel forced or obligated. it should be the choice of parent and child how and where to educate. Schooling a nd education are much too important the choice should be of free will and nothing less.

Are you asking if it is OK to home school our children where I live? Yes you may home school your children if you like, but you have to register with the state and let them know you are home schooling you also have to meet certain requirements including physical education requirements and they have to pass certain tests to prove that they are actually learning.

I don't think the public school system should have the right to prevent enrollment. Although, if the child decides to transfer to a public school later, the school does have the right not to accept the credits (this would apply in high school). I used to work in a charter school and we did not have to take certain credits in certain courses from regular public school. I didn't really think it was fair because the child had done the work and earned the credit. It didn't seem fair to take it away from them.

I think the education of a child is up to the parent. If the parent wants them to have some education using internet even though a school doesnt want to then the school is not respecting the parents wishes.
Like the saying "parents know what is best for their children" and that is how schools or any other person in the world shouldnt even try to intervine in the education given from parent to children.
To some people it might not be the right thing to do but if the parents think that it is the best thing to do then you should never question what they want for their children.

Thank you for your response here. who would know better than a parent who is good and motivational to their child. a healthy education for a child should be looked at from all sides.

Yes, education is a very important thing to all of us. Schools have no right to prevent parents from letting their kids enrol in any school they want unless it is not good for the kids. To my opinion better if we leave how education is being taught as for now, I still like the way that kids go to school and interact with kids their age and with their teachers too. The internet can't teach you this. I hope someday schools will still be existing including teachers and students.

Thank you for sharing your concerns on children's education. we do need standards to live by. sometimes they just need some adjusting when the situations arise. Technology and society do seem to take a part in how we live.
