In my country we are usually able to drink the tap water, but some months ago there was a problem with the tap water and we were told to boil the water or use mineral water. They had to examine the water and find out if it was really polluted or not. After some days we were told that there was no pollution and that it was safe to drink the water again. Since that time we haven't had problems with the tap water and we are able to drink the water. In many other countries that I have visited it wasn't safe to dtink the water or the water tasted really bad, so I used minaral water all the time, but in my own country I am not afraid to drink the tap water.

Thanks for the best response It is sad to hear that many people in the Philippines have became ill because of this situation. Is your part of the country one of the places that is affected by this? We were afraid that the same thing would happen in my country, and there were many warnings in tv,in the newspapers, on the internet etc. At first we boiled the water, but then we decided to buy some mineral water because it was easier than boiling the water every time.

its sad news that in some parts of my country the Philippines, people get sick from drinking tap water after the floods from typhoon Ramon and Queil. samples have been collected and its contaminated with bacteria which can cause diarrhea. lots of children and adults are confined in hospitals due to diarrhea. it would take several months for the water system in these areas to be fully restored to its proper condition for now everyone in those affected areas are advised to boil their drinking water or drink mineral water to be safe.

Water is safe to drink where I live. The drinking water is well treated so thereĀ“s no danger. But still I bought a water purifier to clean it a little bit more. It has nothing to do with safety and the water is not cloudy at all, but the purifier filters some of the unwanted minerals.

Here in my city in india tap water is not at all safe to drink, at times you find so much of dust, soil, algae etc, it is because people have broken the pipe lines in many places, however one can use that by passing through Aquaguard as we do in our kitchen.. Professor

hello Professor... its sad to know that your own fellow countrymen are doing harm to your water system. what happens to those poor Indian who can't afford to buy water filtering system such as Aquaguard? are they forced to drink unsafe tap water because of lack of alternative water source?

Hi. I don't think it's safe to drink tap water nowadays. Unless it's a filtered one. But I think it's alright to drink from a tap if it's a spring water. Just to be safe, don't drink directly from a tap.

It depends on the area where you live, I suppose. Here in my country the central water authority says that it is safe to drink tap water, only under certain conditions they advice to boil water before drinking. But! Many people boil their drinking water, or use mineral water.
