Recently I have completed comments to the responses I got to my discussion almost after one month! I have taken out the time from my tight schedule and commented each and every member who has taken the pains to respond! I think this is a minimum courtesy we should have and we should let the member know that his response has been taken care of and we appreciate it! We should make him/her realsie that the efforts taken are highly appreciated! All we need to show this gesture is to simply comment back the response!!!! But I get really frustrated and some times I get irritated also when I get no comment to the response which I have posted! I take out some time and think for a while and try to post a bet possible rsponse, so it is natural on my part to expect for a comment on my hard work!!!! Now,what I want to know is, do you comment back to every response you get for your Discussion initiated ? How Do you feel if some one fails to comment back on your response! Please respond! Your views will be highly appreciated! Thanks! !!!

They Start A Discussion, You Respond...They Don't Comment Back.. Their loss! I often wonder if those people offline do the same thing. You know, those people who are scurrying about all day long, raising their head and just acknowledging you with some mundane phrase like "how ya doin'?" but hen you respond with all your latest feats or upsets, they are no longer anywher in sight. They don't really care how you are at all, in the same way that those who start a topic, expect repsonses but then don't respond couldn't care less either. The sad thing is that most of them think that they are earning gor our responss. How wrong they are! They really expect that if WE do something, they are going tohave a monetary gain for it and their ents will increase? I comment to all of the repsonses on my started discussions (ecept two which, for personal reasons, I left half way through). That's the whole point of a discussion surely? I comment back to comments hat I receive on responses that I leave on discussions started by others too - sometimes over and over again

We all have offline things which make it difficult for us at times to be here but if, instead of starting more new topics, we concentrate on catching up with the comments to the responses on the previous ones, then that's ideal. No-one will then say that we are just 'response collectors'

Hello Dear Ms Diana!!!! I really fail to understand , what magic you have or Charisma you have with you, that you start gathering comments to your responses before I come to you! I must learn this trick of yours! LOL! I thought I would promptly come back to comment back to you before some one o the same, but this time it was our friend Surekha Rathi, who has taken the credit!Ha Ha Ha... Yes, I agree with you and I have had my own maternal uncle, whose job was to put some questions and then he would be busy with cleaning his ears with ear buds, instead of listening what we are saying! Now he is no more but I do have another cousin of mine who behaves in the same way! So having got experience from those people in offline life or real life I am really careful and see carefully if I am being listened to or not before expressing myself further! I really don't understand about the psychology of such people! Similarly here on this site I have noticed many members who are doing pretty well, are not taking interest in commenting back to our responses! As you said they are the losers at the end of the day! Though it has been repeatedly said on this site from time to time by some one or other senior members , to remind them they can make good earnings out of this, they are hardly paying any heed to it! Otherwise also I think this is a minimum courtesy and duty of the person initiating the discussion to appreciate the pains taken by the fellow Mylotter in responding to his/her discussion! This is what makes the question answer session into a a live discussion! What can I say about you participation! You are an expert discussion maker and people have got lot of things to learn from you, you include my name also in the list! I know your way of initiating a discussion, responding to it and adding comments to it! I also appreciate the way you leave some funny punches in others discussion to make it live and manage to get a big gathering in the discussion! I would live to participate in your live discussions but unfortunately I don't have that much of time at my disposal in a stretch! In spite of that I try to attend as much as possible to have some fun which means a lot to me , after some tiring job! Thanks for responding! Hi Surekhaji! Thanks for the BR, I know this is not a proper place to acknowledge! Please don't exert a lot and take rest as per the advise of your Doctor! Take care and get well soon , so that we all can have good fun! May God bless you!!!!

Hi AKRao Personally it does not bother me if a member does not comment back. I do my best to provide useful and helpful responses and if they do not comment, I know in my mind I did my best and gave it my all. I understand when members do get frustrated because if a member does not comment one does not know if they even read the response. Shame really because if it is really helpful advice the member is missing out on the help they asked for. Sadly when this happens too often, many including me simply stop responding. No one likes to talk alone, and although they are missing out as we all know that unless they type they will not earn. Earning aside though, there are numerous times I will research a topic and learn all about before I place my response and if a member does not acknowledge the response then, hum there is no point. There are times when members say they do not have time to comment back. I totally understand because offline life is a priority. The only thing I usually recommend is that they do not start topics, unless they know they will be online for sometime to be able to comment back. There are times do to all of us being from all types of time zones that responses do come in during our odd times. It is then highly recommended that the members not start new discussions the next time they log and perhaps tend to the responses first prior to start further new discussions. This of course in my opinion would be wise.

Hello Dear Hardworkinggurl!!!! Yes, may be you have become immunised to this sort of situation and you have prepared your self mentally not to bother about the members who really don't bother to comment our responses! But then, as you said many of us do some home work, if needed to refer a site to get genuine information and try to give the best possible response! We know that we have posted a best possible response from our side and it is really frustrating that the response is not even read, or if at all read it is never reciprocated in the form of a comment! Yes, stopping to respond to such members can be one of the solution to keep ourselves mentally fit! at least by avoiding such members we won't have the feeling of frustration any more! Yes, No one likes to talk alone! Because it is nothing less than talking with a wall! The hard work being incorporated in making a good response goes waste if the member is not bothered to respond back! It is a human nature, that we all like that our work should get appreciated! It is true that the members who are doing so are losing the earnings which otherwise they could have had by commenting the discussions! May be these members are interested in increasing their score which gets increased every time we respond to a new discussion!!!! Yes, dear friend, I am a person who really have hard pressed time! I can't really say when I will be having time with me and when I will be busy! So I take out sometime and try to comment back all my responses, may be some times I am too late some times! I recall commenting your discussion at the last one, with due apologies in my last discussion! I agree that people like me should not think of start a discussion, instead , responding to others discussion would be fine! But then dear friends, habits hardly die, I enjoy getting friends all gathering in my discussion and this gives me special energy and enthusiasm and for a while I for get my tensions and enjoy the site to have a nice fun! I think this may not be possible if I respond to others discussions, as you know...many of them hardly bothered to comment back! LOL! This time I am going to complete my comments and then only i am going to respond other's discussion! As usual thanks a lot for the detailed and informative response! All the best!!!!

I do try to come back and respond to every response posted in a discussion that I have started. I do appreciate when the poster has commented on my response. It shows that they have read my comment and care enough to say so. There are times when dont respond and thats usually when I cant understand what the other person has written or it just doesn't have enough to warrant a response.

Dear Ladygator! That is OK if we fail to understand what a response means and under such circumstances it is better to avoid giving any comment as this may create unnecessary confusion! Yes I understand there are situations where the response doesn't have enough stiff to warrant a comment! I appreciate that you are sincerely attending all your responses and making the members realise that you care for them and their responses are duly read and appreciated! This is a basic courtesy and this is what required on this site to make it a discussion forum and not to keep it a just question and Answer type of site! You have forgotten to say how you feel when the people are not responding to your responses in the form of comment? It is OK you are commenting without fail, would you just ignore if you don't get comment for your response or feel angry or frustrated? Kindly respond! Thanks for responding, I liked your participation and I sincerely appreciate it!!!!

Hello Dear Jazzsue! I can understand your problem very well as we are sailing in the same boat! I too have lot of commitments and I am hard pressed of time! Inspite of all this we are having the intentions of responding back to the responses we are getting in the form of comment, which we are getting from fellow Mylotters! We sincerely appreciate the efforts taken by them and care for their opinions or advises and duly acknowledge them! Yes, every one here does have a real life or offline life and we need to take care of it as that is main thing and we are required there to be present physically! But at the end we are taking pains and reciprocating the efforts in the form of responses, though sometimes they may become bit late! I think you must have attended your 'Other work and must be free now?!'!!! LOL! I really get frustrated and some times even get irritated when people just initiate a discussion and they never come back to see what is going on there! I get tired of getting to their discussion now and then to see if I got any comment, as I don't follow discussions through my e-mail! Hopefully after this discussion we may expect to find some change in this aspect?! Thanks for responding and I sincerely appreciate your efforts which you have taken in spite of having shortage of time! !!!

I agree - especially when it's on a volatile subject. It's like someone you know striking up a conversation in a bar, asking, maybe: "So, what do you think - " and then the moment you say, "Well, I ..." they turn their back and wander off to someone else. Roood!

Hi Akrao! Normally, I don't mind whether a lotter responds or not to their topics. It's their account anyway. But there is a limit to everything. I think too much of unanswered topics is similar to a spammer. It's just what I think... what do I know anyway.hihihi...

Hello Dear Beingwell! I understand your point that every one is having their own right or freedom on this site! And I agree that it is their sole discretion whether to comment back or not! But then I feel that Mylot is a discussion forum and to make a question answer session into a discussion forum we need to have responses and comments in return so that there is a dialogue between the two members and thus a discussion can take place! Apart from that I feel that it is bare minimum consideration one should have to reciprocate the efforts taken by fellow Mylotter in spending our discussion! This not only encourage the member t participate in subsequent discussions, but also boosts up one's Morales too! Lastly by commenting back one can make earnings similar way as in case of posting a new response! So I feel that commenting back is in fact a beneficial thing as creates a good will and also helps in increasing the earnings! Thanks !!!!

Hello There, I am new to Mylot, I have been here maybe three days. I have spent my time reading, reading, reading! There is a lot to learn from this website and I am currently getting to grips with it. I haven't started any discussions yet as I feel I would like to participate in others discussions first to get the feel of things, there is a lot to learn. Also I may as well say it now, I am SO impressed with Mylot! Originally I was looking for a website I could make money on; I am currently unemployed and climbing the walls with boredom and so broke! I was looking for those opinion survey sites to try get some kind of voucher and pass some time. Then I found Mylot. After three days of reading other's opinions and experiences of Mylot I don't even care about the money side of it anymore. It seems like a fantastic experience everyone is having on this site. The art of conversation is being revived, people can express their opinions without fearing negative feedback as is the case on all other social networking sites. There is a chance to improve my writing skills and learn from other people about their cultures and ways of life. I'm in LOVE!! I have a facebook account which I have been thinking about deleting for a long time now, as I find it ridiculous to have a few hundred friends on it, mostly people you haven't seen in years, were never friends with to begin with and if you met them on the street tomorrow they would not even say hello to you! And even your 'closest' friends on Facebook think that posting some kind of link on your wall with no comment or discussion qualifies as being a good friend! So in relation to this discussion title and your point AKRao24; I completely agree with you, I think it is so important to show people appreciation for taking the time to read and respond to discussions. Even if it just a 'thank you' response. Its just good manners! :-)

Warm welcome to Mylot Dear CharityHobbs! Yes, many of us have joined Mylot initially for making some money! But very soon we realized that this site is not good for making fast money but it is something very special than mere money making site! Here we have members from all parts of the Wold and they come from all walks of life. We have members of all ages and with different professions! The members are quite matured, understanding, well mannered and most important sincere and helpful!!!! Yes by visiting this site I bet you will get hang of it within no time and I am afraid you won't get addicted to it! There are many things you can learn from this site! We discuss here anything that is happening on the surface of the earth as there is no restriction about the topic of discussion! The language being used is very polite and there is no role of unparliamentary language or abusive language as we are having a strict admin. to look after this site!!!! Face Book is a site which I used it for two months and I discontinued the use of that site! Presently I have hanged a Board saying 'The Shop Is Closed' in place of my profile picture! I find faceBook as an artificial place and I refer this as a 'Fake Book' instead of face Book! Yes regarding the topic of our discussion, I appreciate that, though you are a newbie you got the point and appreciate the importance of the comment in the discussion! Hope to see some interesting topics of discussion from your side soon! Thanks for responding! !!!

Hello Dear Thoroughrob! I understand your point, You will interact with the member who is responding only if you have some thing say to his/her response or otherwise you you don't comment! Most of he people they do it like that only! Yes, I can understand because of shortage of the time we may not be visiting this site frequently because of which there can be a lapse in the regularity!!!! But my point is until unless there is an interaction between the two or more members on the site on a particular topic, there can't be a discussion as a discussion requires minimum a dialogue! So to convert a question answer session inti a discussion we should start with a comment to the response we get and if done properly we are likely to get back another response to it, thus taking the conversation a step further to make it a lively discussion!!!! Basically Mylot is a discussion forum and we have fun and enjoyment in discussing a matter here, just like we do in our off line life! What you say? Thanks for the response!!!!

Yes i understand what your saying completely. It is frustrating when you listen and respond to a discussion only to have your advice fall on deaf ears. I do try to respond to all my comments. After all we are here to discuss and i fell like people shouldn't bother asking the quetion if they are not interested in the answer. I don't always resolve my discussions quickly i like to see what different people opinions are and i don't know where your discussion goes when it is resolved but when it isn't it's way easy to find =========================^^^^ I don't know if people do this too boost their earnings. I understand that responses are not instant like chat and that they may have many other people to reply to. I try to go back over my responded discussion to see who replied back to my response almost everytime i am on mylot.

Hello Dear Don't Pick Your Nose, you are right, it is really an frustrating experience, if we see that our hard worked response on which we have actually spend some good time before posting is falling on deaf ears! The indifferent behaviour of such people who never bother to come back to see what is happening to the discussion started by them, really irritates me! If there is no interaction the sole purpose of this site which is a discussion , gets defeated! Then the site would be another question answer type forum!!!! I appreciate your views and to some extent I also do the same as far as resolving the discussions is concerned! I wait for sufficient time and having gone through all the responses and having commented them back and if I feel that I may not get any further responses I resolve the discussion by selecting a Best Response!!!! How can people boost their earnings if not commenting back? I think on the contrary they can make money for commenting and this becomes much easier for them as they are in touch with the topic and they need not waste time in searching for a new discussion to respond! I think for commenting also we are paid as good as for responding a discussion! Thanks for the response!!!!

I feel guilty of this because I do not and I cannot respond to all topics which my friends like you post and sometimes cannot reply back to all those people who gave comments to my post but sometimes even if somebody just like me would like to reply back to all comments since I know this will add up to the income I cannot because just like others they do not have time to do it especially when there are too many replies that you receive... But it should not be a cause for despair, it's not that they do not want the topic or they do not like to respond they just don't have time to do it... writing any word as a reply is an added income here so I think everybody would like to do it.

Hello Dear Sammy! I understand your point! If people don't have time to comment back to their responses, them how come and why they are starting some fresh discussions or participating in responding in others discussions? I think basically people may find it boring to give same type of comment to each and every response they are getting to their response! I don't get any better logic to justify, if you say that people know that they can make money by commenting a response and still they are not interested in making one! Now if I don't get a comment I sometimes gets despair and frustration also, may be it varies from person to person how we take the situation! But for me I like some one commenting back to me, as I sincerely comment back to my responses, may be I am late some times! Thanks for the response!!!!

If I started a topic for discussion it means I want to read the views and opinions of other members. So it's just right to post a response back on their comments as a sign of appreciation for sparing some time to read my topic and post their opinions.Even sometimes it takes longer time to respond back because of some off line works but i did it dutifully.Anyway for those non respondents maybe they too have reasons but it's sure they don't get credited by just posting a discussion.

Hello Dear Stanley! You are absolutely right! I agree with you and I have already experienced this I responded few of your discussions and I got the feed back from you in the form of comments! Feed back only makes this site different from other sites which are simply a question answer type ones! Mylot is basically a discussion site and o make a discussion there should be continuity in the conversation, and commenting is on of the way of keeping the conversation on!!!! I agree with your views that it is a minimum courtesy and it is sign of appreciation for sparing some time to read and respond back to our discussion by the member, if we comment back and reciprocate the same to him/her!!!! Hello Dear Bhabycatch! Yes, I know, I too have a big list of such members who are are simply the response collectors and they are hardly having any interest to acknowledge the response! You are absolutely true, though we can't demand fora comment it is minimum mannerisms or etiquette's which asks one to at least comment back to the response! If there is a dialogue, then only we can have some discussion otherwise a discussion just ends as a question answer session! !!! Well, generally most of us they do the same thing, that is not to respond to a discussion by the members who are not bothered to comment back! But this is not a good thing in long run. Instead we should make them realise the importance of the comment and converting a simple question answer session into a lively discussion, which is the main motto of the forum!!!! Yes, if they are not responding back in the form of comment it is their loss and not ours! Well said and it is so true, hope the concerned members are paying attention to your response! LOL! Hello Dear Kavya! I agree with your views that perhaps people want to increase their scores by giving responses to different discussions instead of commenting on the responses they are getting to their own discussions! Yes, by doing so they are getting a point increased in their score, which is not seen if they comment the response of the discussion! May be this can give them some encouragement this anyway not going to help them in making good earnings! If you see carefully, there are many members who are quite senior on this site but their scores are not very big, but they are popular and doing well on this site, just because they won' forget to attend every response thy get and commenting them back! Though their score is not getting increased their popularity and reputation gets increased and their earnings are also good!!!! Yes dear friend, Mylot is basically a discussion forum and we should try to convert our topic of discussion into a long conversation by involving as many members as possible, which only possible if we start it by commenting to a response we get for our response, the way you do!!!! Yes,I comment back to all the responses that I get from a discussion. Sometimes is difficult and I feel bad when I see somebody have responded my discussion but in that moment I cant respond back, but as soon as I can I do it. About my feelings when I respond to a discussion and I don't receive a respond back, well I like what is he or she thinking about my response maybe she didn't like it because she didn't respond me back, but I feel great when they respond me back. And I know that we don't have enough time to rate, choose the best answer, create a discussion, respond to each answer, respond to discussion without answer, respond in each question of each friend and in the discussions that are interesting for me, I know is a lot and because of this I don't get mad.

Hello Dear Rosa! I appreciate that you respond back all your responses in the form of comments! Yes it is obviously understood that all of us do have our offline life which is more important than this virtual online life and that is why we concentrate more there! Because of this we may become late in responding back which I think quite OK! So far we are having the inclination of responding back it is quite OK! But the indifferent attitude after initiating a discussion to it irritates me a lot!!!! I must say that you are too simple to think that person may not have responded back as he/she might not liked your views! I may differ with you a bit here1 In case if your response is not liked, then it should have been contradicted and the views should have been put across accordingly! But here you are getting only a cold shoulder!!!! Yes, responding to each friend is a difficult thing on this site but we can rate the discussions and responses we like as it would not take even a fraction of a second! And for resolving the discussions w require some time and this ha to be one carefully to avoid the injustice done to the deserving member! Inspite of all these and having a hard pressed time with many members thy are doing fantastically on this forum and I think we all should learn from them and follow their footsteps to make this site a place for enjoyment with a purpose! I always try to comment on every response. I have some discussions where I didn't comment on all of the responses yet, but I will get back to them. If I get many responses, it takes me a while to comment on all of them. I enjoy commenting on the responses and I like "talking" to the members who respond to my discussions I am happy when other members comment on my responses, but I don't expect to get a comment every time I write a response, and I don't get disappointed if some members don't comment. I think that they miss out on a lot of things that way, but it is their own choice if they want to comment or not.

Hello Dear Porcospino! Yes, I understand you always get back to the responses and comment them, as I have got the experience of responding few responses to your discussions! Yes, it is natural and understood that if are getting many responses we are bound to take some time to comment back each and every response and i think here most of us understand this, as are having many things to be attended in our offline life which are more important than this site! Yes,the fun about this site participating and making the discussion a live one! talking with the members really helps in easing out our day today tensions!!!! I think you too have got adjusted to a situation when you are not getting comments for your responses and you no more feel bad about it! I think you have got a valid point that they miss out a lot of things if they fail to interact with the members , for which they simply need to comment a response to take the conversation further! Yes,it is of course their choice as that is their account and they have the freedom of using it, the way they want to use it!!!! Bit I think it is basically minimum duty and courtesy of a member to recognise and appreciate the efforts being taken in responding to his discussion! For this all he/she has to do is just give a genuine comment on the response! Thanks for the response! All the best! !!!

Eh, totally not offended. I am such an incredible scatter brain that I never remember to respond to every single person who responds to my discussions, although it makes sense that the person who starts it should continue it and really make a "discussion" out of it. But I lose track of things easily. I call it ADD. lol.

Hello Dear Maezee! In fact I never wanted to offend any one with my discussion! I just wanted make my view that the efforts taken by the respondents should recognised and respected and it becomes our moral responsibility to acknowledge the efforts! Well I can understand you if are not remembering to answer back many of your responses as you have tendency to lose your track of things very easily! Are you serious that you are a victim of ADD? I know such people can't concentrate on a thing for a long time! They have short attention period! Thanks for responding!!!!

Hello AKRao, I used to Hate them (a lot) but recently I've come to realize that they're World doesn't evolve in mylot and they do their best to comment as soon as they see some responses in their discussions. I have told one or two response collectors who responded to mine to at least give time and comment on responses, some improve but not consistent. Like what Aunt D mentioned, it's their loss. and you shouldn't expect something baack because it's their choice whether they want to comment on your response or not. I realize now it shouldn't be a compulsory because it wouldn't be fun anymore. You say hardwork as if it's a job, this is just social network where we participate and talk. I commend on your effort though but we can't expect every one to do what we do, okay

Hello Dear LetranKnight! I agree that this is not a job and we are not bound to comment back! But the point is that this is a discussion forum or social forum and we are participating here to have some healthy discussions! you will agree with me that a discussion requires a dialogue and to have a dialogue we need anther person to participate and take the discussion further and this can only be done if we comment on the responses we get for our discussions!!!! Yes, I understand every one is having offline World and we are also no exceptions to it1 We are also having our own lives to lead and we are spending sufficient time there also! But the point is that, when we are here on this site let us follow the rules ofthe game and play the game delightfully! Yes, we always encourage the people who are, as called by you as, the 'Response collectors' and request them to comment back to the responses and make the discussions live ones! I never say that comments should be compulsory or mandatory! It is understood that it is their own account and they can participate the way they like! If they are not participating actively then it is their loss!!!! I personally feel that if I am doing a home work and responding to a discussion ,I will expect a comment for my response as it makes me happy! I think this is applicable to every one in general! Thanks for the rsponse and I appreciate your views! All the best!!!!

Ouch... I must admit that I don't always get to comment back on the members who commented on my posts. I comment back on them later on but I don't comment back fast. And yes, some of them I am not able to comment back anymore. Before I am not really commenting back on anybody but I was awaken by one senior and told me he will appreciate if I comment back, so now as much as I can, even I do it late, I try to comment back on them. When I make comments, I don't also go back on them to check if the member commented back on my posts. Sometimes I just can't keep track and as much as I can want to use my time posting and replying. Unless it is something that really interested me, then I go back and check.

Hello Dear pbbbsra! Now,having got advised by one of the senior member of the site you are commenting back to the response you are getting! That is really a nice thing to hear! Initially most of us must have done the same thing, I mean just responding a discussion and leaving that discussion for attending another! Because most of us have the habit of attending some Question answer type forums. But however Mylot is a different site than other social sites and here we are expected to convert a question and answer session into a live discussion! So I think it can only be possible if we initiate it as a form of comment we get for our responses and encourage the member who has taken so much of pains to respond to our discussion! I think here shouldn't be big problem in keeping the track of the discussions as we have systematically arranged separate tabs for the discussions. We have the tab for the discussion we initiated, discussions we responded etc where by it becomes very easy to keep track of it! We can even keep the track from our profile too, as there are separate headings given to accomplish our job easily! Thanks for responding and sincerely appreciate your efforts! All the best!!!!

I do feel this is annoying but some people may not have time to do it or they could just be abusing the system to make money rather than actually having fun with it

Dear Sydney! I agree that people may not have time to comment back to the responses they are getting for their discussions! But they are seen in participating in other's discussion or they are seen starting another discussion without paying any attention to the original one! I really don't think that is a system abuse as they in fact are loosing the earnings if they are not commenting the responses! In fact I think they feel that by commenting either they are not getting any increment in the sore or they may be having a feeling that commenting may not fetch them anything in return, which I say is a wrong notion they have, if they think so, as comments can fetch good earnings , if done properly! Thanks for the rsponse!!!!
