What makes you stay at the job you're at?

Office cubicle - Office jobs are hard to find full-time where I live

After high school I worked for a company for 3 1/2 years. I loved that company so much and then I was offered a temp-to-hire job paying more. Also, after being hired in you were promised benefits and all that other good stuff that lures you in (which I didn't have at my current job). Well, at my interview I asked if there was ever a time they did not hire in from the temp-to-hire possition and they told me no. So, I thought, okay, I'm going to take this job, it's closer to college, it's more money and benefits once I get hired in. Well, after 6 months they decided not to hire me and that they were "downsizing" pretty much. Ever since leaving my job that I had for 3 1/2 year I can't find anything else like it. I miss that job on a day to day basis. Actually, I was secure at that job. Now, I can't find any full-time possitions. Since the temp-to-hire job which was over 6 months ago I've only been able to find part-time jobs. So, my question to you, is what makes you stay at your possition. If you were offered something with better but it was a temp-to-hire would you have taken it?

Thank you for your comment. Yet, what if someone else offered you more money, you wouldn't leave your current job for that job?
