Is Fan is necessray for you while sleeping?

Dear Surekharathi, I am in need of fan always. You know what, I switch on AC with 28Degree and switch on fan too. I feel really comfortable and warmth with this combination.. I feel disturbed when some one switch off the fan. May be am in love with the lullaby that the fan is making Happy Mylotting

Hello Surekharathi!How are you? In my case, sleeping is one of my favorite moments of our day to day living here on Earth. Since this is the time wherein I can relax and take a full rest from work, thus I make it sure that I would feel comfortable while sleeping. And using a fan is really helpful on my part to get a sound sleep. However, it somehow depends on a certain situation. Like if the weather condition is quite warm or hot, then I can consider using a fan at that time to keep myself from sweating. But if it's rainy and windy, then I don't need to use the fan anymore since it's already cold outside. ehe..like you I also use blanket whenever I go to sleep. Alright, have a nice day! :-)

I love the air blowing over me. Otherwise it feels so eery silent! But I can and do sleep without fan during winters, though sometimes I like to wake up with that cool blow I stated earlier. My sister feels cold almost all the year. Except for the time when you just can't deny it's really hot outside and heatwaves are unmistakable, she would rather have all fans switched off! Or to take the blanket.

Hi! I can't sleep without a fan during the summer season! I easily get hot and sweaty so I need a fan to cool me off. And I can't sleep when it's so warm and humid. The fan helps me to sleep. And it also shoo away the mosquitoes and other insects away from me. Sometimes even during the rainy season, I would still have a fan whenever I'm sleeping because even in rainy season, you can't guarantee that the weather will be cooler. Sometimes it's cool sometimes it's not. So during those days that the weather is warm, I turn on the fan so that I can peacefully sleep.

Hello my dear friend, You are not the only one who uses sweater in summer. My boyfriend always sleeps with a fan and in the winter too. Yikes I am by nature always cold and right now it is so hot outside and I am chilly inside the apartment because he has both the air conditioning running and a fan. Brrr! I am anemic so I am usually cold at all times so to have a constant fan makes me very cold. As for some people, yes they do need a fan or they cannot comfortably sleep. I am just one of those opposite ones who gets so cold easily.

And this occurance is really deeper and more commo than you think. But the solution is simple. The normal rate of biothermal homeostasis (body temperature) is 97-100 degrees fahrenheit which is 36.1-37.8 degrees celsius if I am not mistaken. And this slight variance can actually have an affect on how we judge comfort in our natural environment. Som lke it cold to be able to gather thier body heat under blankets or sometimes touse the cold as an excuse to cuddle with thier significant other ( which isn't so bad...). And others, like you and I, enjoy the heat because it is so closely relative to our natural body temps. I normally run at 99.1 degrees fahrenheit. A little higher than normal, but I have a fast metabolism as well. I live in Las Vegas Nevada in the beautiful Sonoran Desert. I moved here years ago from Detroit, Michigan. I hate the cold. And the desert temps are so beautiful and comforting to me. But in the end, for your situation I would say this: Mind over Matter. If your don't Mind, it really doesn't Matter! We use a fan, more to drown out the traffic. We live on a main street in a small town, and you hear all kinds of things. I also like to just have the air movement.

Here in summer is that hot sometimes that you need a fan to be able to sleep...but I have to clean the fan every so often because I Am allergic to dust!

I have a fan in my room but I rarely used it during night time. The cool breeze outside our house is more than enough to give me comfort when sleeping. However, I use fan when I take an afternoon nap just to freshen myself from tropical heat of the scorching sun. I have a brother and cousin who uses fan most of the time, which give me no choice but to go with their leisure. Even though I always thought of using fan as a waste of electricity.

Hi That's shocking that you don't using fan during summer too. I really can't sleep without fan. yes even in winter I use blanket because of cold but fan always remain on during I sleep. I don't know why, I had tried to off it when i was sleeping but I couldn't sleep without it.

Yes, fan is necessary for me. I can't sleep in air-con room though. Without the fan, my room can be really stuffy even if the windows are opened. When the weather gets cold, I just have to put on my jacket or cover myself with a blanket.

i don't think fan is necessary for me while i am sleeping~ my fan will definitely been turned off before i go to bed. i don't understand why there are so many people leave their fans on while sleeping~

Appliances such as electric fans are simple machines. They are made by man to make life easier. Having said that, it is something that man can live even without it. Therefore, having a fan while sleeping is not necessary. As for me, I prefer having a fan while sleeping. We have one in our room so why not try to use it.

Personally speaking, fan is not necessary for me while I'm sleeping. When it is so hot and wet at night, I usually turn on the air conditioner in the room, or I cannot sleep well and will feel so tired in the morning. I usually use the fan at night when it is just a little hot and not very wet. Some people may complain about the noise of fan when it is working, but to me it's not a problem at all.

Well its not completely necessary, but it does in fact help me. In fact, it really does help me a lot. To have a fan on me, when I am sleeping at night, that is going to assist with my sleeping a lot. A whole lot as it turns out. The fan doesn't need to be on me, in fact, when its warm or humid, I turn it towards me, when its cool, I turn it facing my computer desk. I don't know, there is just something about sleeping with no noise whatsoever that makes me a little uneasy. It just leads to to a rather eerie silence, something that just makes me sleep with one eye open. White noise is something that is going to help me sleep, allow me to keep in the bed. It just helps lull me off to sleep and its going to really be something that allows me peace and clarity.

mother nature gives us a lot of things ,nice breeze which is hundred times better than any tech or artificial breeze.AC,Fans,aanything cannot be compared with the natures breeze.However as we got used to them and as the population increases we get in living in rooms so we do not try to enjoy nature.

Well in the summer I need the Air conditioner, because it does get real hot and humid. So, the air conditioner cools the air so I can sleep. I do not use it in the winter. Then I put on the heat.

Surekha: Your discussion reminds me of one of my relative -- a very rich person -- he will not switch on fan even in a room where there is no window. It is only out of practice and he follows it now in his 80th year also. His children require AC or fan for use always. Even in my house - I will switch off the AC when my better half needs it. While staying in Chennai most of the days we manage with fan only. Yes. normally at least one fan will be on all the 24 hours in our house. In cities like Bangalore probably fan is not required because it is relatively cool.

Hello Surekh .....this sounds so similar to my situation...LOL i don't wear sweater but i cant stand the fan too in ANY season unfortunately my brother cant sleep without the fan in any season and when younger and we shared the same room we had lots of fight. Sometimes i used to get up in the middle of the night to switch it off and he would get up to switch it on!! My blanket of course i cant part with it even during summer...
