How often do you clean/clear out your handbags/wallets ?

I tend to dump so many things into my wallet which of course can only takes papaers and cards...but all else goes into my hand bag and I find that it is becoming heavier as days go by , and I am unable to find stuff that I need .Finally, one fine day I clear out all the stuff that need not or should not be in my handbag, stuff that I have been carrying around with me for several days...
Now I make it a point to clear out my handbag once a week and keep only things that I absolutely need and use on a daily basis...
How about you all friends ? please share your experiences ...

Am also lazy in clearing my wallet and sometimes I will stack bills or small chits for reference. Most of it is Debit or Credit Card transaction slips. They keep accumulating and unnecessarily make my wallet heavier and funniest thing is the printed contents on the slips vanish in thin air after few weeks and those slips serve no purpose for me. Sometimes, say once in a month I search my wallets for such things and clear it.

Knowing fully well that print on the bills/slip will fade away after sometime, we still can not stop ourselves and keep stacking those bills in our purse or wallets.

LOL, that's true, the older the better. I have an old one rupee note that is faded and some 10 paise and five paise coins too...I also have one newspaper bill from 1986 when the total monthly bill was just Rs 19/ and it is unbelievable !enjoy your weekend deepak

Hi deepak, it is a habit with most of us to save bills, probably with the idea that it would come in handy in case we need to exchange stuff or simply for keeping a record o our expenditure.As you rightly say,I too have noticed that they fade far too quickly these days and there is no point in letting them accumulate in our wallets and hand bags for a long period of time...all the best and enjoy the long festival weekend

Hi anil, it can happen with both males and females as you can see that there are quite a few males who have given their views here.ladies of course carry a larger handbag and tend to stuff more things into them...But I have seen men too carry their briefcases,laptop bags and duffel bags which are bound to be stuffed with things...

Hi Bluedoll, I too have this habit of keeping a few pieces of papers clipped together, just in case I need to jot down something or make a list.There have been times when the pages have come lose when I have searched for something all through the bag...

So funny exactly what happens to me. I collect little notes and pieces of paper. Actually I create them when I can find my pen because I love little yellow stickys and lately a tear off pad where I drop everything from reminders, or something worth looking into. I am collector of information and when I don't know what it is or how it got there I know it has gone too far.

I tend to keep a lot of clutter in my wallet and my handbag equally. when i am searching for something that i can not find in either my wallet or handbag, then i know it is time to clear some of that clutter away. it seems to be a weekly chore for me anymore.

Hii good evening friend nice question but not for me haha... I use a small wallets not handbags and my wallets is pure leather so not necessary to wash.. But when I was in college and I was using handbags weekly I washed that handbags.. means college bags..

I clean my handbag each week because papers and other stuff will clutter around in my handbag compartments. Receipts and other notes which I don't need anymore will be cleared out because I don't like searching around clumsily when I have my handbag with me on a day out, that seems messy and unorganized.

I don't clean my purse out as often as I should. I hang onto the receipts that have my debit/credit card numbers so I can have them for my personal records when balancing my checking book. However, I do clean out my purse when I run out of places to put my most important receipts and things. I do need to make it a habit to clean it out more often than I do.

Hi Keola, thanks a lot for your response I too do that, I mean keep all the debit/credit card receipts and also that i keep in my wallet and clear out only those papers and things that are not needed like pamplets and plastic papers or bags and also napkins that needs to be washed ...

Hi kiran,
same to me. I dumped so many unnecessary visiting cards in my purse that it became unusual heavy. To me all are important. But actually very few are important. Some times I clear my purse. No doubt it is a bad habit to dump unnecessary things.

Hi bhanu, we all have the tendency to do so !My handbag gets so heavy at times that my shoulder begins to ache .It is only when such things happen that I immediately clear out the hand bag just so that it becomes lighter...all the best and happy mylotting

At least once a week. Before I leave for the store I'll take out the receipts from my last shopping trip and store them in my desk. I don't keep make up. Only a permit and other different cards for different things like medical and savings and my notepad and pen if I remember to bring them.

Same here. I make my bag as my dumping place, much like a garbage bin in which I just throw in everything I need to have with me during the day. However, I do not get to clean my bag that often because it takes time to do that. Cleanup usually happens when I change into another bag or use a new bag so I have to unload the contents from the old bag into the new one and in the process encounter stuffs like candy wrappers, old receipts, ballpens that do not work, etc. The new bag becomes lighter after this.

Hi Cutie, LOL dumping place is right lol, it is the same with me, I put just about everything in my bag - umbrella,mints,cosmetics,hand towel,novel,etc etc etc; other than the usual stuff like wallet,sun glasses...When you decide to clear up the stuff you are surprised at what comes out and as you say later for sometime at least I have a lighter bag...all the best and have a great weekend

My hand bags and wallets are made of pure leather, i have 3 sets of each, it is not possible to clean them in home, but it is true that they become dirty.
Once kalyani washed them with some detergent liquid meant for wool, but they became hard..
So now i give in the laundry, they say, they DRY-CLEAN , god knows??

I find that my handbag gets filled with rubbish so quick, you just accumulate so much stuff throughout the day; receipts, leaflets, bills, if only it was all money! And I hate when I can't find what I am looking for either. Sometimes if you are out for the day and going to a few places your bag would be packed full, returning things, hairbrush, perfume and the likes. I try to keep on top of it, I really need to organize myself lol.

Hi Charity, thanks a lot for your response I agree it is the same case with me,handbag getting stuffed with everything possible..I have to really struggle at times to find the house keys and mobile which also sometimes gets submerged below all the stuff...

thats true our wallet theres so many things inside, i myself I throw my other things that is not so needed
