If you are interested in where we came from and how we got where we are, National Geographic has a wonderful program on this. You can find it on the Interenet at the Nat. Geographic site. It's under science, or people, just search for DNA. As so many of their programs it's beautifully done. Enjoy

These programs are great to watch but I am a little surprised. From your last discussion, I rather got the idea that you were a religious person. Tracing the origins of man normally sparks a heated debate between Darwinists and religious folk.

I believe in both evolution and God. God set evolution in motion. The 40000 years do not have to be years as we know them. For me the Bible has a lot of symbolism and different interprtations can lead to different conclusions...

I love National Geographic. Years ago we used to collect all the magazines and the kids used them for school reports. Now we have the Internet. I find this subject of origins in Africa most intriging.. Thank you for the heads up..I'll check it out.

I´ve been meaning to check on Granny Lucy for a long time, but other things kept me from doing it. Now that you mention the subject, I´ll check at the National Geographic to see what they have there. I loved the mazazine and unfortunatly my cable doesn´t have it.

Well it is not yet confirmed where we came from , several hypothesis have been proposed in last fifty years but none of them can be used to model a definite theory oh evolution of human race .Every day some new findings and new facts are explored around the globe by archaelogist scientist and historians , therefore it has become more challenging for scientist to arrive at any particular conclusion so early . I hope in coming future with more advanced probing techniques and more accurate and precise dating will lead to some formidable conclusions on tracing the root of origin of human race . In my view we should try to open our mind and be ready for all kind of perspectives and propositions related to origin of human race.
