I don't know if some of you or most of you has proven facebook as the best way of communication, because I do. There are several situations already when I posted events or planned gatherings with my friends, classmates or colleagues, such as reunions, simple get together or meetings that were made possible. I know that cellphone is the fastest way to gather them together but because of not having numbers of my long-lost friends or classmates in high school and elementary years is of no way of making events possible. And to this situation, facebook is a lot of help.
I managed to organize reunions and meeting with my friends already by just informing them in this social site and I love it. Just last night, I and my high school classmates planned to gather in order to comfort another classmate from the sadness of losing his mom. We were able to communicate and made it happen with the help of facebook.
How about you? Were you able to organize important events and made it possible with facebook? Any experience?

Hi ronadelle!
I agree, Facebook is the best way of communication to some extent. My former classmates use Facebook, too as a way to organize events for our batch. Even my orgmates, the officers/organizers are using Facebook as a medium to inform members of the organizations about upcoming activities. And it's really effective and I think it lessens the expenses on cellphone load.
But the best thing that Facebook does for me is that, it allows me to chat with friends without being obvious. I mean, if I chat through Facebook (not the chat per se, but through commenting under a group status/post), it won't be obvious because I will look like as if I'm busy writing or typing something. Most of my work involves typing and writing so it wouldn't be unusual that I'm always glued to the computer.

Haha.. I do that too secretbear. Being online but not obvious helps me notify my friends (those I'd be discussing important matters with) that they can exchange messages with me through personal message inbox without having others know. It's the best way to hide, right? Happy myLotting!

Yes, in May we (my family and me)prepared an event and because of FB we could be there, that was a beautiful event I saw relatives that had more than 15 years without seeing them.
Besides and December I could celebrate my dad birthday with the family together.
And before to come to U.S. I prepared a farewell and all my family was present, so thanks to FB we could plan these events knowing that everybody will become aware of that.
Sometimes I need to communicate with my family in Santo Domingo but I can't make an international call, so I go to FB and find one of my relative there that can call the one I need to talk and because from my house in Santo Domingo the phone calls to U.S. are free they call me as fast as FB allowed they to know! So yes I have save money and make great events because of FB.

Oh, sorry to have heard about what happened to your son but I'm glad that he's all okay now. That's wonderful to know that friends were able to help and facebook was a way of it. Thank God for this. I'm just so happy for you. I pray that your son is healthy as always!

Facebook is one of the most powerful tools that has come into existence during my lifetime. It makes it possible for me to be able to stay in touch with friends that have moved near and far on a regular basis. In addition to that, it is great to be able to set up birthday parties for my children and other events and to be able to invite a lot of people without taking a lot of time to send out invitations. If it wasn't for facebook, I really think that a lot of people would have fallen out of my life and there would be other people that I would have never been able to find again.

Glad to hear that. I think you're right, if it weren't for this social site, people would have fallen out of our lives. ;)

I use facebook to communicate with old friends and find out information from my friends .. If just for fun, no, just a waste of time ... With the updated status of old friends, I know things like how he ... even my first mobile phone broken, important information floating on the wall or the status of my friends ..

Yes Indeed, it's very effective communication and very convenient as well. No need to waste credit texting everyone or sending of letters or emails that people don't even check. Facebook is the way because "everyone" uses Facebook. I don't use facebook so when my friends plan events they'll always bug each other to tell me. I'm such a hassle to them lol! =D

LOL. I thought that you were testifying because you experienced it. Anyway, why not try to have one so your friends will stop bugging you then, and oh, so you'll get updated with your get together. ;)

I think social networking sites should be called best way of communication and Facebook being the king of the all, should be called the best way of communication too! I haven't yet made any events or groups through FB, but yeah have made some good friends on it. Unfortunately, I have not yet found my old days (elementary school, middle school) friends using Facebook, don't know what's up with them and why they haven't made their profiles on it yet!

That's really sad and frustrating of not being able to find our old friends that we lost touch with. I hope that sooner or later they'd get to decide and sign up on facebook. Wishing you all the best!
