Why do you stay in your relationship?

I'm so happy for you. That is absolutely wonderful. Always continue to work hard at your marriage and don't give up. Hard times will come but as long as you can continue to have love and respect for one another you can make it through the difficult times. Keep your marriage a center part of your life. When people let other things crowd out their marriage that is when problems start. Have fun with each other and do things that you enjoy together and as a family. This will strengthen your marriage. I do agree that love is very important in all relationships. I do feel that a lot more is needed in order to keep that love alive. After a couple has been together for a while or the honeymoon phase there is real life, real stresses, and faults of our partner that may rub us the wrong way. It is up to us in order to make changes in ourselves to be happy and not be looking to our partner/spouse to always make us happy. When we have the right attitude it makes a huge difference. That is so wonderful to here. A lot of marriages are ending fast. There is so much stress and anxiety in our lives that greatly affect our marriages. I'm so happy to hear that you and your wife have been married that long. It is truly a great thing. And those of us who haven't been married 25 years can learn a lot from older couples and how they have stayed happy and in love.
