The use of computers in everyday life is currently very rapid.
This trend resulted in the use of high energy and a significant increase in costs annually. To that end, energy-saving efforts are needed.
Unfortunately, according to Schneider Electric, there are still errors or myth that computer use is common in everyday use.
1.For saving do not turn off the computer.
In fact:
computer is actually designed to deal with the cycle on / off 40 thousand times, and when used in normal computer then the computer can be aged five to seven years. Then by turning off the computer, we not only reduce energy use, but also reduces heat stress (overheating) on computer.
2. Turn the computer off and back would use more energy than leaving him on.
In fact:
The use of the energy used to boot up the CPU for much less than leaving the computer is on more than 3 minutes.
3. Using the screen saver will save more energy.
In fact:
Originally the screen saver is designed to extend the life of a monochrome monitor whereas most monitors are now using obsolete technology. Actually, the screen saver can save energy only if off the screen or on a laptop, turn off the backlight.
4. Network connection will disconnected when the computer low-power/sleep mode.
In fact:
New computers are designed so as not to experience a loss of connectivity or data even in conditions of sleep mode.
CPUs are equipped with technology Wake On Lan (WOL) can be left in a sleep mode overnight and the next day the user can still receive the data sent.

I put my laptop/PC on low energy mode at night when it is downloading any stuff.
Instead of shutting down I feel that hibernating is a better option as the computer boots up faster in that case..

hi ekotyas as mine is an old computer I turn it off completely when going to bed but otherwise I leave it on all day as I am on it
a lot and do not need the bother of turning it off when I will be back very shortly to use it.but I do not leave it on when I am sleeping. it must rest then just as I do also. Also in hot weather I will sometimes turn mine off for an hour to cool down and wait for cooler hours to use it. but most of the time its on all day.

I usually turn off my computer when I'm not using it not only to save energy but to refresh my settings as well. If you let the computer to be always on, some updates and necessary changes and cache deletion will not occur so it will slow down your computer.
