can you say no when someone ask you to do something?

My husband never say no to others when they ask him to lend money, he says it must the time they meet trouble, otherwise they could not ask for money. But that is except for me, when I ask him give me money for family expenditure, he will refuse me, and say my money is enough for it. It's unfair.

I believe it pays to have a word of honor all the time. When someone asks me to do something I would respond Yes only if I can really deliver if not and I know I will have hard time doing then I'd say No. I don't want to put burden on myself by committing to someone when I know it would be really hard for me. I believe it is not a sin to say No when it is really No.

It actually depends on what is being asked and who is asking the favor. When my parents, my inlaws, my best friends and of course hubby is the one asking for something. Yes, I cannot say no to them. I don't know but there is something in me that want to do everything I can for my loved ones. i cannot say no and will find time and a way to do something for them... Strangely, I can say no to people I don't know much. Like someone from work, or a classmate when I was studying, definitely when I know I can't do something and I have better things to do, I say no.

Hello annjilena, Yes I am one of those people you refer to as not giving a no answer. I could never say no because I'll end up feeling sorry. I have said no a few times to certain people who wanted me to do favors for them or to borrow something from me but afterwards I'd call them and tell them yes because I feel so guilty about saying no.
