I know very well that everybody already experienced this that sometimes, and there will be times that you just run out of good words.
I don't know how that happens but there are times like that really. If not running out of good words, there's this particular times when you're feeling like having a lot of words in mind and writes like a genius. I wish that this genius moments is active at all times.
Yet, I wonder how professional writers deal with the times when good words just don't get their way to gear up the brain.
What's your take on this fellow myLotters?

I think you should listen to what your heart says. Write a draft. Put all the random thought you have on that topic you're working on. When you think you're done. Start editing. You'll be deleting and replacing a lot of words and sentences on this stage but that's ok. It means you're making your article better and for your readers will appreciate it more.
Hope this helps!hahahha!!

I always have a lot going in my mind when I write.hihihihi... That's why I need to make a draft first so I can organize my thoughts later on. It's hard at first. But as time goes by, I learn to pick up the essential ideas that I can incorporate in my work.
Anyway, don't be too serious in your writing. Have fun first!hihihi...

Yes, I always write what my heart and mind says. But there are times really when I know that I have good things to write but they can't just be organized on my mind. Oh, thanks for that it helps. I'll make drafts and improve it. Nice to see you online!

I even have that problem in my native language and I´m a professional writer. It happens to everyone. When I´m writing a story, sometimes I know there is a word, I know I know the word, but it´s not there. I leave a blank space and go on. I edit a lot when I write in my language. Many times I let the story alone and apparently forget about it. It´s because I feel I need to read it as if I had not written it.
I am considered a good writer in my country, but I´d never sauy I´m a genius. The most I can say is that I like some of my writings and that time has been nice to them.

The word professional is something that other people place over you, like a coat. You eaither like or dislike to do something. My late husband used to be a pro soccer player and was even part of our national team at a World Cup. Before dying, with him soccer chums, he said he never could understand with they paid him for doing what he most wanted to do in life

All writers come to that situation. Some experience "Writer's Block". Some writers write only when they have the drive. For professional writers, I am sure they make or they have for themselves a unique mediation or method that put them in their writer's hat. I experienced being an editor for a newspaper before and wrote a monthly column for a magazine. Like you, sometimes it feels like the words just don't come right... During those moments, I stop. I leave my laptop and treat myself of something. I go out for coffee or I go out for a walk in the park, I go to the mall or see a movie. I relax myself first, and by the time I come home, I am back there sitting on my desk and writing about something great.

Don't worry, I think when that happens, just go for a walk or do something that will relax your mind. I once watched a movie, I forgot the title but there's this cast who is a writer and he went for a vacation near the lake. He just looked at the lake and begin to write. We need that too I guess. Keep it up!

I think we tend to burn ourselves out sometimes. Forcing yourself to be an "inspired" "artist" is a contradiction in itself - I feel like it all has to come with time, naturally. I can never think of anything interesting to write when I sit down with the intentions of doing so, but OF COURSE when I'm dreaming or working or driving somewhere I always get inspired. It's inconvenient. I think maybe writers take a little mental break to get 're-inspired'. But I don't know, I"m not a writer!!~

Rejuvenate, Rejuvenate. I think that's what will help us! And oh, for writers? They need it Big time!

Agreed. However I noticed that when we are tired, we couldn't produce much work and quality writing.
For example yesterday. I travel down after work back to my home town and working is 9 hours and 2 hours driving. back home about 11pm and I decided to write some articles to complete my freelance project.
Guess what? I couldn't even write a short 400 words article and my mind is totally blank. I decided to sleep and this morning I woke up (thanks to stomach ache) I wrote 3 articles.
So, yes, rest is important!

Sometimes its just funny, I can write on Facebook and other social networking sites but I lack what to write on Mylot. Yesterday was such like day, I read many discussions but I posted or participated less here on mylot. I did not know the problems is for most people until I came across a discussion like this some days back.
Keeping on practicing and reading posts made by professional writer here, has really helped me somehow manage my laziness, and I think am doing good nowadays.

I sometimes I don't feel like writing at all. I don't feel inspired and can not focus. When such days happen I don't post here I just read discussions. But also I have good days and I can post for many hours and I feel inspiration around me. But that is not every day.

I'm like that too at times. I can't force myself to write anything when nothing really actually is useful and meaningful to write about. Like you, I'd be better off reading others' work and blogs or discussions and that would help me get some inspiration.
