Luckily we lost power for only about 18 hours after hurricane Irene. Did you loose power and if so for how long?

How are you guys doing there in the US after the hurricane? glad that nothing serious happened. I am from the Philippines, and thank God that our place was not hit by the typhoon that affected our country this week.

During summer, there is a power cut off here in our place to save energy and it takes 6 to 7 hours a day. This is not everyday thu, sometimes 2x a week. It's fine if the power cut off happens during day time, but during night time it's too hard and I am not comfortable. have a good day jaiho®

I don´t live in the US but I was 3 days without power after a big earthquake in my country, Chile, last year in February. I had to check some of the freezer contents after that and throw away some of the food I had frozen, specially fish and the like.

The power went out early Sunday morning at around 1:30 AM. I woke up around this time--I'm a very light sleeper and my fan was on. It's really loud, so when the power went out, it shut off, and I awoke. It was like a reverse alarm :P Anyway, the power was out for only about 30 minutes, before it was back on. I don't know how widespread the outage was, but I'm really glad it wasn't very long.
