Feeling nervous

I don't know why but every time that I don't accomplish something or didn't make it to my prepared schedule I feel nervous. I feel that something bad will come up and hit me hard. But so far nothing like that happened but I am still wondering why I always feel like this. I don't know what to do. I have been enduring this feeling for so long already and because of God's grace I was able to overcome it. But how long will I suffer from this kind of feeling? What do you think is wrong with me?

Could it be a case of panic attack? Or could it be that you have a controlling streak? Or could it be that you lack a sense of security? I am just thinking aloud here and I have no ill intention whatsoever. I read a lot of self-help and psychology books and so that was why I asked those questions.

I think there is also this panic feeling inside of me. I always panic when there are things urgent that came up and I don't know what to do. Good thing that I can still have a hold of myself or else I might not be here anymore.

Thanks for that! I will try to search for solutions and alternatives to get rid of this problem. I am now better than a while ago. Maybe, I am just thinking too much that I forget to be mentally prepared.

Hi JasperTore. I am not a doctor, but sounds to me like you are having anxiety attacks. Half the people living have them and many take meds for it. I know, men don't like to hear they have them, but it is a fact, and it totally is not fun and is scary sometimes. If it is not full fledged, then they are not as bad, but it is something that can be helped. I hope it gets better for you. Then again, that might be it at all. Do you have a different explanation for why you think you feel that way?

I feel scared that I will be scolded if for example I didn't do things on the right way or I failed in an exam. I haven't told anyone about it since I thought this was normal for everyone. Now I think you give me some idea. I will try to talk to a doctor about this.

Yes a lot of us get really nervous all the time and it is more about what we are thinking. Not easy to over come but we have to try and relax a bit. As long as we are giving our best and working hard towards what we set out we must learn to accept. It is not easy and do hope you can relax a bit more. If it is persistently happening this way with almost every thing you do in life perhaps it is more then just thinking. I agree with Chrystal above and it could be anxiety. Which leads to Anxiety attacks. Someone recommended to me the other day to look into meditation. They say it helps us to relax the mind so we are not so anxious with our thoughts. Best of luck and hope it gets better for you.

You are demanding to much of yourself. It's like the good part of you wants you to keep your schedule, the bad part of you wants to punish you, because you didn't do it. When you have too high demands on your self, when you push yourself too much you are in that punishment circle. Set up lower expectations on yourself, which you can accomplish , then when you've done it, you will feel good about yourself. Set up reasonable goals which you can do.

I think, when you are preparing your schedule, you have to also prepare about Plan B. Plan when the schedule isn't going well. The same thing goes to your goal. You have to make a plan about what to do when you aren't accomplishing something. I ever face the similar nervous like you did. Later, I realize that "I just do the best, God take care the rest." While I realize another thing: that I have to always make a plan B - plan when everything isn't going well. I think, if you are well-prepared enough, then you will reduce that nervous

I will follow your advice my friend. I will try it and see what we have after doing the thing. Planning is also important since it will lessen the occurrence of failures and also it boosts your own self-confidence.

By planning well, you will have no regret even if you are failed to do something, because you already try your best. And also, you wouldn't get shock with everything that isn't working well, because you already have the Plan B. Good luck, friend

It is not nervousness that you are feeling. You are feeling anxiety. Anxiety is the fear of the unknown. As what you have said and been feeling when you feel nervous you think that there will something bad will happen it is simply because you don't know what will really happen. And that is where anxiety kicks in. You feel anxious in the things that you are not sure or what would be the outcome would be. That is totally normal. In order to overcome it, think of something good will happen or even don't think hard about what would be the outcome would be.
