Also i have purchased a Telugu learning book. I am listening Telugu songs now a days a lot. Also i am going to watch Telugu movies in my leisure time by going to theaters which are in Andhra Pradesh state. In my busy atmosphere its quite difficult to watch movies in theaters, But i will spend my time in Government holidays. Also i am not having the patience to watch movies in my Laptop or in TV. I am speaking Telugu now a days even to my Tamil friends.. They helping me to learn the language as well. Do you have interest like learning other languages than mother tongue. I learned French for five years when I was at secondary school. A couple of years ago I went to a Spanish language class. I was pregnant at that time so that wasn't the right time to do the second level. I am keen on carrying on with learning Spanish that is Latin American Spanish rather than European Spanish. My mother tongue language is English. Good luck with your learning of Telugu.

hello Balaji85in, It is good that you have successfully learned a language other than your mother tongue. It all depends on how much interest one has in learning new languages. I too have interest in learning different languages. I want to learn French, but have not stared it yet. I have recently read that if you want your brain to keep working actively and avoid memory loss in old age, then you should keep learning new languages. It keeps your brain active and new cells keep forming inside brain which is good for health.

Right now I'm trying to learn Spanish and French. Actually I started both of these a long time ago, but had no time to dedicate here. Now-a-days I'm relatively free. A lot of languages are doing round in my home, but I think it's better to stick to what you have already started. Otherwise who knows what I would start speaking in - a cocktail of Spanish, French, Russian, German, Korean, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bangla and whatnot. Mind you, I'm learning only two of these!
Hmm.... English is not my mother tongue, but I assume it doesn't count! Maybe I started learning this language before I could even consider whether to like it or not....

So good to see you have passion in learning. I feel learning another language is full of fun and which can really enrich our life. English is my second language, and through learning it, i have known lots of things and made lots of friends. Without it, i can't raise posts and discussions and communicate with mylot friends.
I think to learn a new language it is very important to keep learning every day and don't put it away, because it is not like other things, if you put it down for some days, some words and expressions will be rusty. And having friends who talk such a language is also important, especially when you are learning spoken language.
