When i start a discussion i keep checking again and again to see if i have received responses. It is just for an hour or so but i do get a little anxious and keep checking to see if i have got any responses. I am very eager to see what people think about the discussion and want to respond to it.
Do you feel anxious to get responses?

I check not because I am anxious but every response needs a comment so that the topic becomes a discussion. We do not get notifications after the first or second response/comment from a user and therefore it becomes necessary to go back to our own discussion page and check if there are responses/comments.

Thanks. I didn't know that the notifications stops coming after the second response.I will be more careful now to check back on my discussions. I guess that means if you have a four-year old discussion and the last response was four years ago, you wouldn't even know your discussion was active again.

I think it is same with everyone. we choose a topic, we prepare an article, we think about its layout, we check spellings , we read it few times, some people even attach a picture and then finally we send our discussion, so obviously we wait eagerly for the responses. It is always interesting to see how people have reacted on our discussions. I think I start looking within 5 minutes of my sending away the discussion. What excites me the most is to check my discussion in the morning as I don't know what happened while I was sleeping in the night......Yes I am very anxious to receive responses and shocked if I have zero response

Hello Dear Kripa! I am very anxious to receive responses once I have started a discussion! In fact I have initiated a discussion similar to this some years back, which said 'How often you go back to your discussion to check back the responses?'.
In fact once I post a discussion I often check my discussion and I enjoy to see the responses swelling from time to time! Initially I used to be very happy with the responses. But then with passage of the time and having acquired good number of friends on this site now i am sure that I am going to get some good number of responses and I keep myself mentally prepared to comment back to each one of them as I think this is the minimum courtesy we must have to appreciate the efforts taken by them! Moreover this adds to our earnings and provides an congenial atmosphere to have some new friends and your discussion may get prolonged which some times may be beyond imagination! Thanks!!!!

Yes me too but most of the time I don't have much time to see who respond to my discussion as soon as possible so I do check it late because of the real job here. I hope mylot will have a notification feature like in facebook. You will see easily who respond to the discussion.

This is just my fifth day on MyLot, so I have been eagerly watching my email for notifications about responses to discussions I've started and new discussions my friends have started. These past four days I had more free time to spend on line than usual, so I have been always watching my email. When I get up each morning, I check my notifications and then reply to them as I can when I have a free moment and in between projects. Right now I'm away from that computer and won't see the notifications until I get home, so I'm just looking at the top discussions and responding.
I think from now on I will be able to keep MyLot in perspective, give my chores priority, and come to MyLot as often as I can, working through those notifications as soon as I can in the time I have. No more eight + hour marathons like yesterday.

not really...but i do feel sad thinking nobody wants to comment or make a response..i guess my discussions are vague or just '¿?' .if i could just imitate those with blue star having 10 in it..having their talent in making conversations..(earning here shouldn't be a problem hehe)

kripa_db, I love your tulip ID picture. That is my very favorite flower of all. Have you see any of the black ones?
I do exactly the same as you. I check and double check and check again. I am always very anxious for the same reasons as you named. And I try to keep up with it so I can be curteous and comment on the responses they have left for me.
When I first started, I was one who did not know that I needed to respond to my responses. It was just ignorance on my part even tho I had read the guidelines each time someone here told me to read them again.
Anyways, good discussion!

Thanks @chrystaltears. No i have not seen black tulips. Mostly red and yellow.
Exact same thoughts as you. I have started responding recently to anyone one who comments on my discussions. Trying to sound different to every response can be a tough task specially if the comments are kind of same. Still try my best.

Yes, I get anxious about this too. I really appreciate those who took the time to respond in my discussions, that is why I always try to reply at them and thank them as a sign of my appreciation for their effort. I seldom start discussions, but when I do, I always try to keep track of it every now and then. It really feels good if you can see responses coming in on your thread. The part when I am most anxious is when I just posted my discussion and I am waiting for the first responder for it. I don't know, but I feel that I really would like to see my discussion get even a response and I always hope that it will get a response. No one wants an empty discussion right. So yes, I do feel the same as you regarding this matter.

It's more of excited than anxious.:-D This my first month here in mylot and I enjoyed posting some of my thoughts and my experiences in life. When I post something, I don't really expect that somebody will make a response but it makes me happy if I receive some.:-) This is just a diversion from my usual job and I don't like that I get anxious of it. I just want to enjoy what I am doing and I really am specially if there are responses and worthy comments .

Yes really its the first job i do when i enter mylot each day. First i wil open discussion started option there i wil see whether i received any new responses if i receive response i wil reply comment there. Then i wil start new discussion as my mylot is healthy because of receiving responses. Without receiving response i cant survive in mylot.

It depends on the subject but I do like it if I get an answer, if someone tells me someting new and I have a new perspective or something to think over

You can get email updates from mylot to your inbox, (I use Hotmail and MS Messenger) so you can hear and see where the emails are from as and when they arrive...I don't think I have comment anxiety...but as long as I'm logged in and I get a mylot tagged mail,I will check it out to see which post got the response...

excited instead. I love getting responses and giving them
too its a lot fun for me.to get input and give input its really
very enjoyable.

I do not feel exactly anxious but am eager to see how many respond to my discussion. Their varied response gives joy as the same post is approached with different point of view. At times we receive only two or three response which makes us feel sad for a while. One thing is sure you need to be active in mylot to get good response. Happy mylotting.

Good day Kripa_db,
With reference to your main topic discussion, whenever I post question/topic for discussion, I always checked it, if somebody already posted a responsed. For the reason, I am not after the number of responses, what I am looking and checking for is the way how they respond to it. Since, I am after the quality and how to approach that certain situation. Thus, I need a good approach and a good quality of answers as I take these as my advices which coming from a good friends. Although we are not really introduced personally, the way how they reply is good enough for me to try and take their responses as an advice. And this is the very reason why I am checking and looking after to the question I posted.
Have a nice day to you.
