On Islam: Girlfriends of Married Muslims

To my Muslim friends, i have a curious question. If a married muslim has a girlfriend, does that make the girl a mistress or simply put "girlfriend"?

It would be the same as in any other religion except it will take you straight to hell. Of course that is a possibility even without a religion!

You are right Petersum. As long as you're in a relationship with married people regardless of your religion or beliefs it is still considered as a mistress, third party or whatever other people call it especially if these women weren't married yet with their Muslim boyfriends.

It is the same irrespective of the religion, but Mulim girlfriends can become a wife to her married friend, as Muslims are legally allowed to have more than one wife.
