Over 15 inches chopped off

Donating my hair is something I've wanted to do for a long time now. My great aunt died of cancer several years ago and she said one of her biggest causes of depression (other than the disease itself) was that she lost all her hair. And since my hair grows so fast I'm planning on donating every three years. Yesterday I got my husband to chop off a little over 15 inches of my hair. Now its right above my shoulders and a lot more manageable for me. But I didn't do this for myself, I did it for the little girl or boy who gets my hair in their wig. I know that will bring so much happiness to a child who is depressed because of a disease they cannot control. Does anyone else donate hair regularly? Or what are your views on donating hair?
