I love observing the moon. I even love it when it's new or full.
I have this obsession on just looking at.
Maybe, it's during the fullness of the moon that I feel strong or pretty.
Last August 13, I took a photo of the moon. I have my DSLR, and took a shot of it.
I am using a Nikon D3100 and my setting was: my setting was: ISO 100, shutter 1/250 and f/8.
The photo attached to this post was the output.
Have you done moon shots too? Please do share your story, and is there anyway I can improve my shot?

I think it great. But perhaps you should also try shooting it with f/11 with the same shutter speed. Then use your longest telephoto lens, ideally 200 mm or more since you can zoom in as tight as you can on the moon and there will be nothing there but dark sky and the moon. Perhaps you could also add up something like a building or structure below the moon by the next time you shot. But obviously you will not be able to take a great picture of the building or structure together with the moon in one shot. So you will have to take two shots, using the setting as stated on the moon and from take another shot for the structure or building, this time with lower shutter speed, so best would be is set it to aperture priority and choose again f11. Most likely you will have 20 to 30 seconds on the shutter. Once you have the photos, you then combine them in photoshop.

I will try with f/11. I did use the 200 mm.
I will try to be creative with the shots together with the buildings/structure.

Good shot. You might want to experiment with your night shots. Most cameras have a night mode where the flash goes off but the lens stays open to capture the background. I took a picture and was able to capture the people working and the color of the sunset. I used the night mode and got good results.

I'm also well fascinated about the wonders of the moon. I love looking at the moon especially when its full. I felt calm and relax with matching breezing wind.
