The question bothered me tack! He may not even have to be baptized as a Muslim, since there before him was not Islam! According to prophecy, he's the archangel Gabriel appeared. What makes me suspect that he knew him from his "original" religion ago. Therefore the question arises to me whether he was Christian or Jew before him appeared the archangel.

He was "Monotheist" worshiped in contrast to most other Arabs and even some statues carved stuff. A baptism in the Christian sense, Islam not all people are born sin-free. The closest to the baptism, circumcision is perhaps not even the 100% duty.

Mohammed was still christlisch become Jewish. He comes from the tribe of Quraysh. Their ancestry goes back to the Prophet Abraham.

He only believed in one God and belonged to no religion. reason: The majority of the people believed that there were many gods, and he believed that there is only one God.
And Christian, he could NOT have been, since Mohammed has waged war against Christians, so he might not be a Jew, because he has performed well against the war.
Also, in the Koran the crucifixion, the resurrection and Jesus as God's son denied. This means it is very unlikely that he was a Christian before.
If he was Christian, he would also follow the commandments of Christianity, which he had not done.
AND therefore he was not baptized, since it is a Christian ritual!
