Do you think 9/11 was planned by the U.S. government?

For some reason my boyfriend and I got to talking about this while we were at dinner tonight. He strongly believes that it was all planned as a demolition of the towers. I guess he saw a whole show on the National Geographic Channel and he looked it up online. Basically, he was saying that the second plane appears to be a missile disguised to be a plane and also what crashed into the Pentagon was a disguised missile as well because no plane parts or bodies were found. I have a hard time believing this and I haven't seen all the things he has on it. I find it hard to believe the government would let so many innocent people die just so they could go to war with Al Qaeda. I've heard people talk about how it was a conspiracy before so I guess now I'll have to really look into it and see what it's all about. What do you guys think really happened?

i agree with your boyfriend. i am 100% sure it was a controlled demolition. as goverment needs people to be living in fear. fear of terrorism. fear of what tommorrow might bring upon them.

I see where he's coming from..plus he's seen all kinds of shows on it and stuff. But what I don't get is why the government would do something so terrible where tons of innocent people were killed. For some reason, it all doesn't add up to me. But I guess I'll have to look into it some more for myself.

Well,I do not think that it was planned by the USA.But,anything is possible and at this point I would not put anything past our government.

I didn't think it was planned either..but I wasn't there at the actual site to physically see everything that happened. I can only make speculations from what I see on the news or what other people have made of it.

NO! This is just another dumb conspiracy theory. Don't take my word for it. Take a look at what the BBC has to say about it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-14665953

Please don't get me wrong, but a faulty reasoning from what the world clearly saw, documented at that, means something is bothering your boyfriend. Look closely and listen intently to what he is saying. You might want to beg yourself out.

I also hear some people said that 911 was a conspiracy of US government. They listed some reasons to support their statement. But in my view, such possibility is very small. Firstly, if it was the US government who made this plan, what was its purpose? If it just wanted to use the event as an excuese to attack al Qaida, the cost I thought was too high. Secondly, it was quite difficult for the US government to make such a plan. In order to plan such an attack, the government had to form a large group and assign different tasks. As we all know, the more people took part in the plan, the bigger possibilities the plan would be revealed. I believe that most people still had the conscience and would be refused to do such work. Lastly, the US medias have strong motives to get sensational news. Don't forget the history of Wategate!

I've watched the same documentary on Netflix and it had me wondering the same thing. However, some things the documentary said doesn't add up. Some things about the attack doesn't add up. I've not gone too far into the speculative theory to really grasp why I feel the way I do. I do know that television can be manipulated to make us believe something, and a professional can manipulate photos with photoshop and other software. So it's possible this could have happened. Not saying that it has, but it's a possibility. Also, I remember something from one of my science classes. When an object is traveling at a great speed and it strikes an object, such as a building, the velocity can determine the damage, even if the mass is bigger.n (I'm not sure how accurate this is, because it's been a long time since I've studied it).
