I'm working now. And, I have so many classes. But I am so sleepy. I didn't have enough sleep last night. My, my eyes are closing. What would i do?
I have to be energetic in the class. I don't want to take a nap because I am afraid i might miss the class. And, that would be worst.
I think i have to drink coffee. I have to walk around. No, what should i do?
Have you had this kind of feeling? I'm so tired and sleepy. My, God.

If I am sleepy, I sleep. In order for me not to have the same feeling the next day, I sleep at least 7 hours. For instances that I can't sleep well, and I have some deadlines to meet, a cup of coffee perks me up and a cat nap.:-)
Have some rest.

Try to do some stretches or simple exercises to keep your blood circulating and oxygen moving. Try also doing breathing exercises to keep oxygen supply to your brain at appropriate levels. If you got a buddy in there, make him/her pinch you till you cry out loud! Surely you will be awake and lively after that! Or maybe have your boss beside you while you are working. Bosses tend to help subordinates remove sleepiness. Just playing around!

Yeah i have gone through such drowsy fellings of sleep. It becomes very hectic and uncontolable when we don't have enough sleep. Sleep is important factor of life, If we don't sleep as per our body's requirment then our whole day goes, heavy and unactive. Talking about your discussion i think the best way to avoid sleep is to make sure you are being invloved in some active work, having less sleep and trying to concentrate is very difficult infact nothing will remain in your head. So i suggest you to do some writing work, talk, chat with friends, try making some craft work that will help you a lot. Drinking coffe will boost your concentration and remove the doziness. Hope you try to cope with it. Good luck hahaha

I have heard it's harder to sleep if all lights, including the lights from elctronic devices and clocks, are off. Having these lights on, I'm told, ruin the quality of our sleep.

You could try to use your thumb to press on the part of the hand that is between the thumb (the other thumb) and the index finger. Keep pressing it for at least a while and after that, you should be able to notice a difference. This is based on what 2 Chinese physicians have said on an infotainment programme.

It's so strange...I didn't see my post after posting it (It was more than 10 min after I posted my response.) and so I posted another response. Then all of a sudden, the post appeared! Anyway, hope you are able to stay awake until your class is over.:)

Oh my gosh! I know the feeling girl. Especially when waking up early for work at 5am in the morning. Anyway, personally, I prefer a large cup of coffee. Or you can buy a dietary supplement for physical activities that you can find here: www.amway.com/gotchdelrio.

Every afternoon i feel sleepy in my company. But the most effective way for me is to sleep for a while,a while is just ok.Then you would not feel sleepy at all.Do not always drink coffee when we feel sleepy.Anyway,if you can't control yourself, just sleep for ten minutes,it would really be effective.

That wouldn't work for me unless I had time to sleep longer. I can't sleep unless I lie down, and then sometimes I wake up goggier than before the nap.

I have not slept for 2 days but I don't feel sleepy.:( I suppose you could drink coffee to keep yourself awake. Or you might want to try using your thumb to press on the part of your hand that is between the thumb (the other thumb) and the index finger. Keep pressing it for at least a while and you should notice a difference (ie. you should feel awake and less sleepy). This is based on what 2 Chinese physicians have said on a local infotainment programme.

If you drink coffee, drink it an hour to the expected time that you think you need its effect. The effect of coffee is not that instantaneously at the time you drink it, you already feel energetic(Well, this is only based on what i have observed when i drink coffee). Or maybe, in order to overcome your sleepiness eat some chocolates or any food that stimulates you to become energetic.

I often have this feeling. When I was in college it happened almost every morning in my Shakespeare class, which was my first class at 8 AM. The professor oozed in like a snail, very slowly, and talked very slowly, and was very boring. Who would not get sleepy? Consider, too, that I had to walk clear across campus to get to class and had just had my tea with breakfast. I had this same problem in a class right after lunch where the professer read his notes in a monotone and couldn't even tell when he had skipped a page unless some student who was actually listening asked him about not understanding how he got from one point to another. I hate to admit it, but the way I dealt with that class was not to go to all the classes. It was an utter watse of time and it was easier to read the books, instead.
People have already mentioned you should get enough sleep. That does help, and if you deprive yourself now, you will suffer for it when you get as old as I am. I stayed up until all hours when I was in college and on weekends when I was an unemployed adult and got involved in conversations or letter writing that lasted until 3 or 4 in the morning. Now my health pays the price for that foolishness.
People have also mentioned caffiene, naps, and exercise, all of which help some people. I myself use three techniques -- getting up to do something physical for a few minutes, like pull weeds or water the garden or do the dishes while listening to the radio. I also find that putting a Mozart CD into my computer will help make me more alert and efficient when working on line. The other technique is related -- a complete change of activity for a few minutes into something you really like and can put your whole self into. That might be aerobic dancing for a few minutes, singing, writing something you are passionate about, or having a really great phone conversation, or conversation with family member.
Here is a technique that should only be used when you are engaged in an activity, like driving, where falling asleep could be fatal to you or someone else. Argue. My husband and I had to do that while traveling to a convention we needed to set up for the next day in Phoenix. We had to make it from Oklahoma to Phoenix before noon the next day, and then we had a lot of hard work ahead of us for the next three days setting up and tearing down a very large book booth. We drove for 22 hours straight, and we were driving a U-Haul type truck with a 14 foot box, very heavily loaded, so one could not drive more than the speed limit. My husband was driving and starting to get very tired by evening, and you can only drink so much coffee before it also starts making you sleepy. So, my husband suggested we have an argument about something, since that always wakes one up. We found a subject we could argue about, and successfully stayed awake until we reached our motel in Flagstaff about 4 AM. We grabbed a few hours sleep and made it to Phoenix by noon later that day to begin setting up. Now we use the same technique when nothing else will keep my husband awake on the road.

There are several things that I do if I am tired and am unable to take a nap. First I drink a cup of coffee, this stimulates the body due to the caffeine. Secondly, I apply cold water to my face and neck to wake myself up. Thirdly, if I have any sub-lingual vitamin B dots or liquid I take the recommended dose as this helps with energy. But as soon as I am able to take I nap, I do so as all of these items I have mentioned are only stall your body from what it really is asking for, which is sleep.

i think you should start your day with a strong coffee. if that does not help maybe two or three coffees are a great addition to a great day. that is what i choose for not beeing sleepy all day.

Dear tess_quinain: Actually your work and not-enough-sleep is not the reason that you are so sleepy for your class. It is probably because you are not motivated enough to go and attend school. Most often than not, excuses sprouts whenever the desire dwindles. You are very lucky to have a feeling of sleepyness, while there are many people who are crying out to get a sleepy feeling so they could get some sleep. However, your problem of taking class when you are sleepy can be easily solved by energy drinks. This drinks are available in any grocery, pharmacy and/or leading stores in your locality. Make sure your energy drink in packed with Taurine and other essential vitamins and minerals to bring awareness and keep you on the go. Ask the sales clerk about it. You have dozens of brand to choose from. But I had 2 best choices to choose for you. Ask me later if you can't select what is good for you.

Hi there tess. Well it seem you are very busy take a time to rest. You're exhausted maybe because you are overwork. Stress can cause disease. Manage your time efficiently. And sleep if you must.
