Entire body itching

I couldn’t sleep last night , because of itching sensation allover body, I kept scratching , called the doctor at last, he gave an injection of antihistamine to be followed by its tablet form, for one week.
I guess it is another side effect of diabetes neuropathy besides, numbness, pain and burning sensation in soles of feet.
Those who have diabetes type2, or know about this, please share their valued opinions. Others are welcome .Please comment on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Papa!
As you know I do not have diabetes so I can't really say about the itching. I was thinking it was an allergic reaction to perhaps any new medication and or food intake recently.
I am allergic to penicillin and cat-scan dye and not only does it cause a lot of itchy but I get anaphalatic shocks from them. So I have to be careful with never getting these as well as I cannot eat any type of seafood. The cat scan dye contains fish oil and it was then it was discovered.
I do hope the itching has subsided and you are resting peacefully.

You need to get some Aloe Vera cream and rub it in. It is very soothing, used for sun burns. That is my valued opinion. Aloe Vera is very good stuff. Pretty green in color. It also helps with digestive health, wounds, has Vitamin B12, Vitamin C and Vitamin E in it. It is an anti-inflamatory and a immuno stimulant.

Years ago my father used to have entire body itching and I was very sorry for him not to feel comfortable because of this, but now he is fine again without body itching. My father has a habit of bathing a few times a day. I guess that this could be the cause of his body itching, but now he is fine again. I wish you to get well again soon from body itching. Take care, Professor.

I am sorry that you have to suffer from that disease.
I don't have diabetes, but I was having episodes of itching from head to toe. My fingers and hands and face would swell. After 2 emergency room visits and many tests, the diagnosis was seritonum syptom causes by 2 medications clashing and causing these effects along with more.

Hi there! I don't know if I'm diabetic I'm too young for that I guess, but I experienced this stuff when I was bitten by a bloodsucker. It was somewhere on my feet but what happen was the itch was all over my body. It cause numbness, too much pain and thought that I'm gonna die. After 3-4 hours the pain was gone and I fall asleep. Do you think I'm diabetic @34? What I'm gonna do if this itchiness happen to me again? Help pls.

I don't have diabetes, but there are nights when itching keeps me from sleeping. It is terrible and I sympathize with you for having to deal with this. Sometimes my itching has a cause like a bite or a rash, but sometimes it might just be dry skin. Sometimes I have no idea at all why I'm itching. I do take allergy pills on a 24-hour basis, but that seems to work best for my respiratory system. I don't suppose it helps much to sleep at night if you have to wait for a doctor to give you a shot the next day before the itching stops, unless you have access to your doctor at night when you can't sleep. I hope the pills are able to keep this under control for you. I wish I had a solution for you.

hi professor,
you should listen to your doctor. take the medicine he prescribes, and do not eat food that would trigger the itching. am sure the doctor have told you what not to eat.

I have that frequently too but try not to take any antihistamine or prednisone anymore since this was already given to me since I am a baby.
By now I have all kind of health trouble (skin, kidneys, infections etc etc.
I recognize the burning pain in the soles of my feet (and insides of my hands) also but don't have diabetics.
So if this is really a side effect what you have I don't know.
It is possible to get allergies later in life and if they don't disappear it will only change. Your body/immune system is changing because of the allergies I also think because of diabetes.
I hope you will find a solution to this problem.
