When to bring a new dog into the pack

We had just lost our best friend Scooby Doo a few weeks ago we have two other dogs Scrappy & Sweetum who we just adopted a few weeks before Scooby Passed away.My wife got a call a few days ago from her sister who had a friend that need to get someone to adopt her daughters 2 yr old pug. I am not ready to bring in a new member to our pack she has already setup a meeting to see if they all get along. Is it to early to bring a new member into our pack?
