I remember September 11th like it was yesterday. At the time I had AOL as my internet provider and they had a picture of the burning towers on their homepage. I immediately turned on the TV, and my mom (back then she was completely in her right mind) and I watched in horror as we saw the pictures of what was going on. I remember later in the day they showed footage of children and adults in Pakistan cheering about the destruction and burning the American flag. And I cried because adults had passed on hate to their little children.
Anyway, soon this will be the 10th anniversary of September 11th, and there will be specials galore. More books are coming out, more specials, and in America at least I know it will be non stop coverage that day. Americans, are you going to watch the specials? Have any of you purchased books written by the survivors or relatives of the deceased? Non Americans, do you think there will be much coverage of this in your country? I don't want to see any of it. I don't need to be reminded because I've never forgotten. For my own well being I will avoid a lot of the coverage as much as I can.
PS If you report this as a poll question then you have serious problems.

I will probably watch a few things on it...I remember that day so well..my boss came to tell us what had happened. I walked in the house after work and lay on the couch and cried as I knew that the probability of one of my son in laws having to go some place and fight was very high! And I was right...and I cried for all tjhe victims..and the distruction.....It's so hard to believe 10 years have passed...

I see 9/11 not as a reminder (who don't remember) but as a membrance to the lives lost in this tradegy. Even though it happens to fall on Sunday this year, it will always be a day of prayer and fasting for me. Prayer changes things

I remember it like it was yesterday also. I will never forget that day. I remember what I was doing when it all unfolded also. I will probably have a moment of silence for them. I will also watch some of the specials, not as a reminder, just in memory of those who lost their lives. I got home from work that morning because we work nights and I turned on the tv and the first plane had already hit one tower. As I watched the coverage, the other plane flew into the other tower. I was so scared and sick to my stomach. I thought America was under war all over.

This is a major part of our history now and as sad as it is I believe that I will watch and I will make the coverage a part of our school day. It seems as though Americans have not forgotten but we also don't seem to have the same patriotism that we did after that horrible day. I was at work and remember hearing that the Pentagon had been hit with a plane and thought that I was losing my mind. Once I knew that we were under attack, I began to cry and wish that I could leave work and go to my daughter's who happened to both be home sick that day. I could not leave and that is partially why I do not have a job now as I never want either of them to learn about this type of horror and hate from someone else.
As American's we need to be vigilant and we need to never forget what was taken from us that day. Think of how the world has changed since then!

I didn't watch any of the coverage except when I passed by a tv in the restaurant in the hotel I was staying in. I had the day off as I had been on assignment for a week already. They had told us to take $100 out of the ATM the night before in case something happened and that we had to report everywhere that we would be that day so they would know that everyone was safe. Fortunately, nothing bad did happen that day, but it was a bit nerve wracking anyway, especially since I was in New York. At least I was in the northern part of the state rather than NYC.

not American but to me a killing is a killing
regardless the race, color, wealth etc it's still loss of life
that said though, when it comes to media and politic
propaganda is sometimes ill-intentioned
it's a good thing to avoid too much coverage if you can and just spend the day remembering those who have lost lives

I don't know what I'll do Ambie..The only footage I seen of this was the year it happened, I never watched any of the anniversaries of it..But this being the 10th, I might, because I might hear some survivors stories that I missed before. I remember this day as either the Monday before or after, I found out I was pregnant with my youngest son. I was devastated over that and when my neighbor called me to turn on the news while I was talking to another friend, my thoughts over what I was going through was overtaken by what I was witnessing..In fact, it took me a while to realize what I was really seeing..
I also see this date falls on a Sunday, so many as a family, or at least my youngest son and I, will do something to remember this day..

September 11, that day will never be forgotten! On this day we all came together as one. We watched, we felt the pain. We all felt the same. Some will watch the coverage and some won't, I will. I will relive this day, not because I want to, but to always remember what our Fireman, Policemen, and every day people of the United States did. God Bless America!
