is that story for real? because that is just crazy. maybe the robbers were high or executed the "heist" (haha)just for the fun of it. you're sure they're going straight to jail, won't they have to spend time in juvy rehab first? did the victim survive, otherwise 2-6 years in prison is just too much don't you think?

To be robbed at gunpoint must be very scary indeed and it is shocking that teenagers did that to a 73 year old man. These were such very nasty teens and they now have a criminal record. They only managed to get 7 cents so they didn't get like 300 dollars or so. Crime must be terrible in parts of New York City. The 15 and 16 year old teens will have for the rest of their lives criminal records. I am shocked by this crime by such young ones.

Hello tikbalang,
Don't know what has happened to people they do hurt people for such a small money these days.Recently i heard a news in DELHI someone killed a 7 year old boy as a person saw him standing on the shop with a mobile so the person killed that child just to have that mobile. That child was brutally murdered by hitting several times on his head by a hammer.
It seams that people's life is too cheap these days.

this is crazy. not only these two destroyed their lives but they did not make anything out of it. i dont think anyone should rob anyone else, but if they plan to do maybe they should go after a bank or something...

Unfortunatly this is the way the world is going. In my opinion they deserve everything they get, if not more. For one thing the old man was probably scared out of his wits, and even being teenagers - by this age they should know right from wrong, and what they were doing was definatly wrong. I dont see how they could not know that. Besides the "harsh" sentence they will probably get out much sooner for "good behaviour"
Prison actaully seems too soft, even for a minor. What it seems to say is if in a fix, rob someone, if you get away with it, great! Free money! If not, well you'll get a roof over your head and 3 square meals a day, and be protected by "human rights" - I feel you (should) lose them the minute you take away someone else's, which is exactly what they did to this old man. I would hope this would teach them a lesson, but sadly somehow I think it will be the wrong one.

i do think the sentences are fair because they committed armed robbery. It doesn't matter how much they took, it just matters that they stole something. Also the odds are if they are robbing someone then they probably wouldn't have gone that far in there careers anyway.
