I contact many old people by e-mail and it has been suggested that I get something that will allow me to transmit a live picture of myself to go with my e'mails. Well no thank you. I am vain enough not to want to let old freinds see me now, I also don't want to see them, how much more pleasent it is to visulize each other just as we were years ago. So this is one add on I can do without. Thanks

I don't use my picture online either. Maybe it's for the same reason - vanity! I'm not very photogenic and the older I get the worse it is, so I don't put my picture out there anywhere. One of the great things about the internet is that you can exchange ideas and friendship with anyone because you only see their minds. Why change that? We get too many wrong ideas about people when we can see them.

I hear ya that's how I feel about web cams too. That means when I'm not at work I'd have to do my hair and of course make sure everything within shot of such a device was spotless.... too much work.

I agree! Web cams are grim when you are over the hill and half way down the other side!

I think we all feel the same way not wanting friends to see our pictures as the passage of time might not have been too kind to our once beautiful faces. Though my face is not mapped with wrinkles yet but definitely it has gone out of shape and may not be picture worthy for friends to see.

Yes I am with you too. I don't put pictures on facebook. Earlier I did, and I receive unpleasant comment from friends's friend. It hurts to put a picture sometimes and in mylot I really want not to be seen but I saw many beautiful pics of themselves and I think I would like to give it a try to see how I look like in mylot. Haa..ha.. maybe I am searching for partner too, who knows?

Well if you don't want to have your picture online, they don't have to. The Internet is a great thing, where we can sit here and people would never see our true face. Yet I think that if a lot of people tend to really not value that private aspect of the Internet. A lot of people put their real photos online and...let's just say that I'd rather wish that many of them would not. Not that I have any room to talk. So yeah, I never will put any photo of my mug online. There are just too many things that brings down the walls of privacy, that there should be online. It really is going to really make me a bit nervous and rather really something that really tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth. So I won't do it, but if people will do it, knock yourself out. Still remember, what goes on the Internet, even if you regret it later, someone will have downloaded that picture for later.

You have the right to not want to show yourself and not see the others. I think you're right. I was very devastated when I was shown pictures of people I used to go to school with......my God, they had aged so much It wasnt a good idea. So as far as Im concerned, you're doing the right thing. At least you can remember them as being young!! Wish we could all remain young

I would not want that either. I would have to get fixed up before I went online. I like it much better just being able to be sitting here, with my hair just washed, weighing 90 lbs more than they remember, in my night gown. I want them to remember the skinny chick who always had her hair fixed and makeup on and really neat clothes.

I don't really care who sees my photo. I am who I am! I'm aging but hey, that's life! Some of the people I used to know look a lot worse than I do, while others look a lot better!

I'm a very private person so I'd rather have my photos on private, although I share some with my friends, I only share those in which I am with someone. I guess its about being comfortable when you do these things, as for me, I could never get comfortable.
