We dream what we want to experience in reality?

The human brain performs uncanny performances - some falling out of bed.
Usually you dream then that one falls down pretty far - of a house or into the abyss - and sounds can easily be processed in a dream - many falls asleep and wakes up drenched in sweat from a nightmare on, because on television just a horror film is brought.

Sometimes there are wierd conincidences, almost like a premonition. It could be a hope, but I find sometimes its just what the brain has been concentrating on alot.
It may be dreams of being with my girlfriend as I speak to her everyday, or long to be with her. But sometimes its dreams of a computer game I have played too much, and sometimes - things that are just bizarre.
I know my girlfriend has vivid dreams they are like comics which have nothing to do with real life. Perhaps they represent real life, but im pretty sure she doesnt want a vampire to bite her or to be meeting a speaking whale.
Could be dreams/hopes/expectations or just a way for the brain to figure out the small details or indeed just to express that creative side you want to explore, or random musings over television/movies/games you may have seen.
If its a reoccuring dream, it probabaly has more depth to it and perhaps you do want it subconsiously or maybe something more.
