I've noticed the fashion trend in Singapore is very hip and in style. People there don't care what others will say with what they're wearing. That's what I like about it. You can wear boots, furr coat, basically whatever you want. Unlike here in our country, once they saw you wearing shorts or dress they can't help but look. Oh well, atleast I experienced wearing anything I want without being looked at.

Hello sunnystarfish,
Whoa I'd love to live in Singapore at least they are not judgmental. In united states we get judged for everything, I remember in school a girl wore black boots, shorts a shirt and a scarf with a a head band and everyone was looking at her like she as crazy I thought to myself well if she likes dressing this way thats her taste she may want to dress differently from other people and want her own style.

I suppose the girl is a Muslim, right? Muslims generally tend to dress in a more conservative way. I don't see why anyone should look at the girl differently. It's great that you don't judge her.

It is great that people won't think you are weird even if you dress differently. Perhaps Singapore is a country which mixes different people. So they learn how to adjust to each other and therefore you can wear whatever you like. Here it is not so free. If you wear so sharp, people will still stare at you:)
I love China

Ya, you are right. In Singapore, there are different races. There are also a lot of expats here. So I guess we have learnt to be tolerant of people who are different from us. Moreover, in school. we are taught to be tolerant of others who are from different religious backgrounds and who are of a different race. Singapore is a small nation and so it can't afford to have racial clashes and stuff like that.

I was there the other week and you're right. You can just be who you are nobody would mind. I think that the integration of different races, culture, religion, tradition and the technology has been perfected there. Though I'm not very risky in terms of fashion, I loved that when I was there I could just dress as I pleased.

Before i entered college i was way too conscious of being judged by the way i dressed up. The moment i stepped my foot in a very liberated university i just spread my wings and enjoyed my freedom on not being judged with whatever i wore in school. We wore slippers then, beachwalk because havaianas wasn't even invented then. Some even wear dragon flipflops! And our professors never really cared if we wore super short shorts! That changed me totally! From then on i never really cared what others say about my own fashion! Until now.

Thanks for complimenting Singaporeans.:) I have heard there are a lot of people criticising us for the way we dress, especially when we are travelling overseas. You are right: we don't care what others are saying about the way we dress.:P

That seems like a very free place. I think that is great when people allow others to be free to express themselves without being judged. It is normal that people will have different tastes in different styles so to look on a person dressed in something different and be judgmental is wrong in my opinion. I would love to visit Singapore.
