Today it is the first day to go to school

Here September 1st is the time to go to school after two months of summer vacation. So today many children start to go to kindergarten or school. And it is the first time for some of them to go to school. Today I saw a mother and a little child were on the way to kindergarten. The child was crying all the time:"Mommy forced me to go to school!" It seemed that he was quite sad to it. Somewhat I felt it was amazing. He will not understand how lucky he is since he can go to school and have food and well care. Not every child is so lucky all over the world.

I feel bably for this little guy. I would hope his mother talked to him and had the sense to work him slowly toward that first day. I would hate to be the teacher on that first day and hope she has had some experience in getting the children to feel comfortable and be good.

And it takes a very good teacher to make a child interested in school.

I could totally understand why many children don't wanna go to school or kindergarten, especially those who have never been there before. They've already got used to staying at home with their parents. When they realize that they have to stay in a new environment without the accompany of their parents, they are more likely to feel scared, the most behavior of which is crying. They are too young to understand the meaning of learning in the school and how lucky they are. But the parents don't need to worry about that, their children will get used to the new environment after some time.

Yes it can be difficult for children on their very first day of school. Many have separation anxiety and it can be very scary for some. They eventually get use to it and some actually enjoy going to school. Small children really have no understanding of what goes on in the world but a great way to point out to them as they continue to grow so they appreciate all they do have while others do not.

I hope the teachers will be kind to the children since they will need some time to adjust to the new place.

Well, most of the kids don't like to go to school, specially on the first day, when they don't know any other children and they don't know what to expect. But, after a few weeks, they usually start liking of school, but I never saw a children that prefer go to school than stay at home.

As much as we talk to our children and get them excited for school there will always be tears when you leave. I remember my daughter telling me when she came home from school..."Mom, I could hear your voice." that brought a tear to me 26 years ago. Hopefully the parents will teach their children to appreciate what they have.

In India, the first day of school is usually in June. Most parts of India have their summer vacations in April-May...and a few parts of India have it in June-July....but the academic school year starts in June.

School Children - Ready to go to study?
So I just learned that in China that you start your school year in September. The first day of school is a busy day not just for school children for parents as well. Before the start, of course lots of preparation were done like buying school necessities and covering of notebooks and books, etc. During first day of school, seeing kids crying and would not want to enter their classroom without their mother by their side is a common scenario. But later they'd get used to it and will enjoy the company of their classmates. Indeed it is a great privilege to go to school because not all can afford to get education.

Yeah, kids are always like that in the first day of school... really hesitant, but sooner o later they would understand the importance of going to school....Sadly, even more mature people, even if they already know how lucky they are that they can go to school, they still take it for granted and not even do well in school.

Today was actually my first day of my junior year (maybe yesterday in some time zones) but it's always hard to go back after a nice long summer so I can understand the screaming children. Next week I start working with the preschoolers so this makes me worry about how they will feel about being left at a big kids school even know it's only a few hours a week..

youless, It is indeed a busy time for various parts of the world that starts school at this time and I can imagine parents rushing with registrations. However, I hope parents will not forget to prepare their children for school despite their busy work and domestic schedule. Especially with families that have both parents working, I find it very tough and challenging for them during these times.

You are right. It is not easy for both parents since they all have to work. Every morning I bring my child to school. And I can't pick him up when he is off school since I can't go off work so early. Fortunately my mom can help me.

Oh, our university begin two days earlier. And now many freshmen here. They get up early in the morning and full of energy. I hope they can keep that situation for a long time. But as they get up early in the morning, their voices and sounds make me can not sleep well after 6 o'clock. And when I get up, there seems no breakfast left in the canteen.

Well, school time starts by June in our country. My child is already in Grade 2 and he is enjoying school. I think in your case its quite exciting and also a little bit of nervousness considering that its your child's first time to go to school. I also some children having the same trouble of fear and doing the crying stuff during the first day of school. But soon they will surely realize that they are indeed lucky to be in school learning. Many children in our country at their have not gone to school since the parents cannot afford to send them. More than that, there are those who are already working or begging in the streets asking for money or food at a very young age.

hiyouless a little bitty kindergartner is not going to know that as thats adult feelings all he knows is he is going to a strange place and is scared to tears. have some sympathy he cannot think with the brains of an adult such as yourself.and too never assume that all kindergartens have kind safe teachers and that all children will be well cared for. little kids get scared of new things. To me it was not amazing to me as little kids have no idea of how great or ungreat something is. wait till they are older.

Thankfully, my children won't be forced to spend their days locked away. They will be getting a real education at home, eating healthy food at home, being involved in the community (without having to struggle to fit activities in around a schedule set by the school district)... Why? Because they will have two loving parents who want to provide them with the best. The American public school system is based on a factory model. I do not want our children to be locked away, forced into boxes... and punished when they do not fit. I don't want for our children to be average, nor does my boyfriend. That is one of the many reasons why we will choose homeschooling.
