Gift is always precious

I never judge a gift from its monitory value, but from the emotion, the love and regard of the person from whom it came. Few days ago a friend had sent beautiful glittering picture of Goddess Lakshmi with golden frame, the word Lakshmi is part of her name; but because of rough handling during transit from Chennai to my place by the Indian Speed Post service, the frame, glass all broke; but the picture was intact. Yesterday I got it framed and today it is on the wall of our Puja Room. What is your opinion about gifts? Please share and comment. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . 1/9/11 Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

Any time someone gives me a gift i appreciate it. It's the thought that counts instead of the value of the gift.

I totally agree with you. Gifts are really precious and so we should learn to appreciate the gifts that is given to us. Not all people have the chance on receiving gifts from other people. We are receiving gifts, that means we are special to the person who has given the gift to us. And so we should consider the gifts given to us precious. Have nice day to you.

I agree that receiving and appreciating a special gift has little to do with monetary value. In my opinion a meaningful gift is one where the giver has given thought and chosen the gift carefully. The best things I have been given have been the items that my friends and loved ones made themselves, those are the gifts that cannot be replaced and mean the most.

Hello Papa! We should never judge a gift, but always cherish the efforts of giving. Giving is not compulsory therefore, we must be grateful that we were thought of when gifted. I am over-joyed with just about anything I receive, even simple items such as cards mean a great deal to me, because it says they took the time and effort to think about me. I can't begin to tell you that a simple greeting from someone I have not seen in a long time is like a blessing. I happy to hear that you replaced the framing and are enjoying the gift. Have a wonderful evening.

I always like to receive gifts as much as giving gifts to people on their special occasions. I have that wonderful feelings when I give a gift and the person appreciate my gift. Gifts that I received from friends and family have become my treasured collections and are will displayed in my house.

Gifts are lovely and it is always interesting to see what people chose for you. Sad that the glass broke on yours but nice of your freind to think of you. Not sure what a Puja Room is but I am sure the goddesses' picture looks like there. Nice to have such thoughtful friends.

When it comes to gifts I will only give gifts a person wants or needs. I will never buy gifts I think the person should have! Most of time the person doesn't like it or want it! I learnt long ago that is the not the way to do it! If I don't know what to get a person they give me a list of what I can get. I am always paying attention to people's likes and dislikes. That helps me buy gifts for some of the people! With my neices and nephews, I just give money! Their parents make sure it goes into their college funds!

Hi Professor, as for me, i am always treasuring the gifts that i had received and kept them nicely in my home. No matter whether it is a small or big gift, i just love to collect them and display them in my home. Besides that, i always send gifts to my loved ones and even my close friends. It is really wonderful to be able to exchange gifts with friends from other countries as well. Hope you and family are always fine...

I also value gift. One should not see the cost of gift but the attitude of the person who is giving the gift.

The pleasure of getting a gift, no matter how humble, is the fact that some one thought of you, and wanted to please you. Why should one ever judge a gift, because it was given with a special meaning. I know people who complained about a gift, and it's not really nice to see such a reaction. It mostly shows greediness.

hello professor gifts are really precious thing one can have in their life.it reflects the depth of a relationship between two persons they can be either friends, lovers, life partners. A gift also helps in remembering all previous sweet memories. Recently i found a gift given by my friend in my second standard almost 18 years ago. he left my school and went another place due to some reasons. i recollected all those everlasting experiences. we can never get back those memories. I think Professor garu you might have experienced a lot like this.
