Debit cards necessary for Paypal

I am from India. I need to open a paypal a/c. I register my email address and bank /c ,but my debit card is not accepted. I dont know why. I want to ask that is debit/credit cards are necessary for receving payment to bank a/c or to paypal a/c. Please help me

I am not an expert but when I tried to open an account with paypal I searched at internet how to open an account at paypal. There I came to know that in india you need PAN card no. to register paypal account.

Hey hafiz,
I would highly recommend, just linking your actual bank acct without your paypal acct this can be done through paypal. Just all you need is the acct number of your local bank and the trotting number and your set. They will send to small amounts to prove that they have the correct acct and etc.
So yeah, if you have funds in your paypal acctyou can transfer it over any time to your actual local bank acct for no charge. No fees. It's easy and simple. I do this all the tine when I get my my lot payment lol.. Well yeah. I would recommend that. So don't worry about getting a paypal debit card unless you are going to use paypal as your primary bank holder and, if you do I'm not sure what the fees on the acct are but, I'm sure when you apply for the debit card it has a rules and agreement form etc. Goes more in detail but I'm sure my lot will charge more then a local bank.

Sorry for replying so late, Busy...
You dont need to apply for Paypal Debit card. dont worry that is a optional but I think it would be best if you just have a debit card from your local Bank.
So if you transfer money from your paypal acct to your actual Bank acct. so you can use it more freely. :)

Thats what I do all the time I'll get paid this month. For my work in August, and when the money is sent to my paypal I will send it to my Bank acct which will probably take about 2-3 business days. and I can just use my debit card which is best for me. rather then trying to spend my earnings using my paypal acct having to get a debit card which has many fees im sure.
So yeah do what ever best fits your needs.

Hi,
I was just trying to add my debit card to Paypal.It did not work for me either.I have sent them an email asking for help.I have a Master card and therefore I should have been able to add my number and confirm my account.However they are just not accepting the number and saying that it is an invalid number.My bank too is of no help.They are as much in the dark as I am in this matter.Some officials have not even heard of Paypal in their lives!

I didn't remember how many times I answer these similar question.
In some countries, adding debit card to paypal account still not acceptable. But you still can verified your Paypal with your bank account. Interested?

even i had the same problem for some reason paypal didn't accept my debit card it had visa power as well...
then i got a credit card and now i am able to use it with paypal...

yes they are. you need to verify your account with a credit card, not a debit card. the card that are accepted are thoso who have a 3 number control code on the back . if you don't verify your account with a credit card u cannot recieve money or by things because, as if on a real bank, they need to know you are a real persin and not only someone to scam. hope I helped u. cumps
