What should I expect going to University?!

I'm going to be starting my first year in University this month and I just wondered what to expect? I didn't get into the Halls of residence so I'm housesharing with 3 others that all seem really nice. Anyone have any tips on how to survive the first year? I'm going to a completely new area where I don't know anyone, so it's really a total new start!
