This is what I do every year. January 1st I start at Genesis chapter 1 and by sometimes in December I have finished it. By reading it every year, it helps me to review the whole Bible each year. You can take the number of pages of the Bible and divide it by 365 and you get to know how many pages on average one should read every day. So I read about 30 pages a week. On days where I have more time I read as much as I can. On days where my time is limited I read only one chapter. By doing the reading this way I have been able to read the Bible each year. I have done this for quite a few years now and hope to continue to do this. Always try to do a bit more than 30 pages so that you never get behind. Enjoy!

You can find many sites on the internet that have a schedule for reading the Bible through in a year. One good site is: http://www.bible.com/readinayear.php

I did not read the bible cover to cover, because there's so many versions of it. Instead I'll pick important verses to read which I heard from the preacher, understand and get the meaning. For me its only the preacher can expound me and relate the meaning of every verses because its mysterious.

"Search the Web" (near the top of the page) for something-like 'bible in one year.' I know BibleGateway has one such listing on their site. The secret is 'persistence' ... not 'persistence' by-itself, but 'persistent joy'; like you long for the sun to rise every night, long for the opportunity to discover God's Word (a treasure to which The Bible is the BEST map!)

I use my own Bible reading schedule which is based on the order written.. It includes the gospels and New Testament letters, the Psalms and the prophets, but I haven't read the rest of the Old Testament for a while.. the New Testament is God's message to modern man.. Tho I don't always read all I have listed, and I do read out side of the schedule, but I like always going over it in the order written then it flows so well and increasingly comes together as a whole story. http://inner-monastery.blogspot.com/p/daily.html (my schedule) There are some excellent reading schedules offered here: www.biblegateway.com/resources/readingplans/

The first time I went through my Bible in a year I was 14. I counted the chapters in the Bible, excluding the books of Psalms and Proverbs, and divided by 365 days. I read the x number of chapters per day plus a chapter in Proverbs and a chapter in Psalms. By December 31, I had gone through the Bible and had memorized several chapters and/or verses in Psalms and Proverbs. I wisdom dwell with prudence and find out knowledge of witty invention. Counsel is mine and sound wisdom. I am understanding. I have strength.

I started at Genesis and read until I got to Samuel. then I started in the new testament and I am now on Galations. I will read all through the new testament, and I read Psalms and Proverbs daily as I need it to start my day.

It's good to read the Bible in one year but I don't think it is recommended. I agree with what others say. What matters most is not how long we've read. But on how much understanding and how we apply what we have read.

You CAN read it in way less than a year. A friend of mine once read the whole thing in a WEEK...yep, 7 days, cover to cover ! Although I really don't know why anyone would want rush through it, or even to set a time limit for reading something as precious and informative as the Bible. My suggestion.... just start at page one, and read a little every day, there's no need to rush, if you rush through it, you can miss the important messeges, or not even comprehend what it is that it says.

Now that would be a good question to find in the search engine and maybe get paid for it. I have read the bible from cover to cover 7 times. I started at Genesis and went all the way through. Then other times, I read some in Old Testament and some in New Testament and one or so proverbs and psalms per day. I enjoyed reading it that way. I did it by that method, because if I read the Old Testament all the way through, which would take months, I would miss out on reading the New Testament which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I also love proverbs and psalms and need them. So I had to included them in my daily reading. I know there are different methods that are used to read in a year, but I only used my method which was really no method, just making it a point to read the bible each and every day regardless. The most I ever got out of the bible tho, was when I read the Old Testament and then the New, and as I read the New, I started going to each and every reference in the footnotes back to the Old Testament. I learned so much that way, and understood everything so much more. It's awesome. The longest length of time it took me to read was 11 months. All the other times, it took 9 or less. But never less than 5 months. I was very close to God at those times.

There are a lot of ways, what I am doing now is reading the bible online, there a lot sites that an help you to do it for example this: www.biblegateaway.com in this site you choose the day that you are beginning to study the bible and then it shows the text of the bible that they have for you on that day. There is another site called this is www.christiansanswers.net and is good too this one shows a calendar and is divided in the days of the week and the days are divided in the law, history, psalms, poery, prophecy, gospels, episties. Those are ideas so you an choose. But you can take an specific time in the day, and take the bible begin to read, you can begin in Mathew, or Beginning (genesis). Ihope this could help you.

As a student who major in english, the school also opened a class for us to learn the Bible. However, actually, i gained quite little information about the excellent book except the content that the teacher held in the class. What's more, i have never read these papers after the classroom, well, i admit that i'm not very intesested in it. I don't know what is your idea to finish reading the bible, but if you can, that would be a big project, but also a great progress. if you succeed one day, would you pelease to share your reading skill with me?
