Do you still celebrate your birthday?

I just had my birthday last August and for me since I have work, it was just an ordinary day and nothing special really. Maybe during the weekend off, eat out with the boyfriend and family but then nothing extravagant like celebration party with friends or whoever. I'm almost 30 years old and I feel that its something that should be remembered but not needed for a big celebration, especially if under the budget! LOL
Your thoughts mylotters?
Do you still celebrate yours?

Getting gifts are so much fun! But the partying and other stuff, yeah me too I dont do it anymore, maybe the next best celebration I am gonna have is on my wedding day LOL Big celebrations are not practical anymore but then just spending time with your family or loved ones will be the best gifts ever.

Actually, I'm having my birthday yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Yes, that's right, I am so confused of my birthday. My mom said, she gave birth to me on September 3, but my dad said I was born at dawn of September 4. Now, my birth certificate states that I was born September 5. Now, I am really confused on when is my real birthday. But I'm using September 5 for legal purposes. I don't want to call for an attorney to correct mistakes on my birthday. But I want to celebrate my birthday, today, September 4 because it is Sunday.

Oh wow that is so complicated! So I think it should be September 4th, why did it become Sept 5th? Is it the hospital's fault? BEcause they are the ones who should be entering the right information and making sure that everything is accurate. Well anyways, happy birthday to you!

Thank you red. Back in the days, it is not automated here in the Philippines. My granddad registered me but he gave the wrong date. It's a very confusing story to tell. hahahaha..

I only celebrate my birthday with my husband and kids. I don't have any lady friends to go out with and celebrate it with. My mom use to go out with her lady friends and celebrate their birthdays with them and they would all celebrate hers with her.

Well, I really don't want to celebrate my birthday. I don't want to celebrate growing older and also the expense is quite hefty. But I can't help it. The people around me are the ones celebrating my birthday and I just have to let them celebrate it at my expense. I don't want to be bothered much during that day with all the nudging and budging so I just let them celebrate my birthday with me.

Why not? A simple eat out would do especially with your loved ones or family. If you dont have to pay for anything, no expenses at all, not a problem I would love that too. Because I am on a tight budget and if they will do all the spending in celebration of my birthday, that would be awesome! LOL

Yes, I do still celebrate my birthday. In fact, I'll be turning 22 this coming November. I'm not excited but I'm thankful with my added year on earth. I celebrate my birthday simply by going to church to say my thanks and eat my favorite dishes with my family at home. Sometimes i invite friends to celebrate with my birthday at home or in a restaurant.

Hey advance happy birthday in November! Yes the most important thing is that we are thankful for another year in our lives and knowing that means so much! I too always go to church to say thanks to my birthday and another year added in my life. Eating out is something I always do before but then since I am on a budget, I would have to pass for this year LOL

No I don´t since I don´t like birthdays. Already as a kid I hated it.
But perhaps I should say yes, since I celebrate it the way I like. Which is not serving people drinks and food. I like to spend time with me so I do what I like.
Must admit since I do it this way my birthdays are great.

Well it doesnt really matter how you celebrate your birthday, if you are happy being alone or celebrating it with yourself, thats fine, as long as you are happy by yourself, then I think thats the best thing about it. But dont hate it, just be thankful for another year added in your life! Cheers!

Yes, I do! My birthday is my very own special day. First of all, it's a day of thanksgiving for another year of my life's journey. The celebration does not have to be something spectacular. It simply has to be something that makes me feel sooo good. Getting cards, especially hand-made ones, simple presents, and sincere and loving well-wishes from loved ones and close friends is a main source of joy for me.Knowing that God is there with us, beats it all. Belated happy birthday redphile!

Yes, being very grateful and a prayer of thanksgiving is the best way to start your birthday! Yes,it is not necessary for it to be spectacular, as long as you have your loved ones and family with you, that would be a wonderful birthday. Old fashioned greeting cards or hand made cards are really sweet. It means that person really took the time to remember you and make you feel special. And of course, being thankful to God for giving us another year of life would be the best gift for yourself ever, Thanks for the greetings!

Birthdays are memorable to us. I have it yearly by having a prayer which will be attended by a few close friends. Maybe 4 but not more than 10. I only prepare snacks for those who attended our prayer. We don't have a group prayer during my last birthday, I just went to church and prayed. We had chocolate cake and ice cream with my family.

Yes I agree that birthdays are really memorable to everyone! Praying and being grateful for another year in life is a good way to start your birthday. A small gathering would be very special, it doesnt matter hoe many attended as long as they are the important persons in your life, that would mean a great birthday.

Haha for some reason I do :D I always treat my parents out when it's my birthday :D Here at office, my office mates and friends (2 different groups) tend to whip up a small gathering for me (or anyone who's in our circle who's a birthday celebrant) and eat together. With cake, ice cream, etc :D

Before I do that you know treat my family to dinner or my friends to a drink out at night but since I was on a tight budget on my previous birthdays, I don't do that anymore LOL
A small greeting especially coming from your loved ones would be the best greeting ever. A surprise birthday party or gathering will definitely make me cry, though I have not experienced that yet so that's fine :)

I see, I didn't know that there is such a thing. Welll I think that's okay, as long as you know that you have another year of life, that would be the greatest thing ever for me. No need for chocolates and cakes, knowing that you are alive and well would mean so much for yourself already. Thanks for sharing!

Wow surprise birthday parties are great! But yeah I guess when we were younger those parties are still so much fun but when youre older you seem to be focused more on important things so parties now when Im older is something not of the usual anymore.

HI redphile,
Belated happy birthday. I do celebrate my birthday but not that fabulous. Spending time with my family is enough for me. No more big celebration since we are tight on our budget. As long as someone remembered my birthday Im already happy.

Hey thanks for the greetings! Well yeah me too, Im not used to celebrating fabulously. But then as long as you celebrate it with your family and loved ones, I think that would be the best gift ever, seeing that you're family is together. And yeah greetings are much fun, thru email, facebook or text messages, will definitely make my day!
