I don't understand links

Yesterday when I checked my food blog I got 10 links in, now when I opened it, it shows 19 links in. Wow, that was amazing but I still don't understand link building and how does that happen. I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to SEO. Can anyone explain me here how links do add up just like that

I am not sure how that works either. I am in the dark about this just as much as you. I think that when you post one link form form one wesite it interlinks all others that is conected and viwed.

hey friend, how are you? well, I just can't figure it out yet but I am just thankful it adds up without any expectations that its helping my site, well I am just happy it does that even if I don't join any traffic exchange sites.
