Hi vycess,
Whenever i misplaced my keys, coin purse, or other things, i stop looking for it. Momentarily, i sit, close my eyes, i imagine my previous activities. I thought what i have been doing previously. Then, i survey my favorite spots. Usually, i would find my lost item there.

It happens to me sometimes. There was a day I was comping my hair then something happened that drew my mind off my hair. Time was moving, and I was to go to school that morning- when my mind came back to my shaky hair, I could not remember where I put the comp. I turned everything up side down but still there was nothing. I left for school and on the way, a small boy told me to remove the comp off my hair.
That was just one of such occurrences, but I'm a constant victim in memory lose.

I often encounter such awkward situations like you. At that time I try my best to look for the stuff here and there. But since I could not recall the memory calmly, it's impossible for me to find it. After several times of failure experiences, I find that I'd better calm down and do something else, the I'm more likely to find the stuff after a while.

Remember when and where is the last time you used it or try to find it on the place where you usually put your keys. If it didn't work, ask help from your family if you think it's just inside your house.

I first look where I am and then I try to retrace my steps. when I came home where did I go? Which room did I visit first? Then I if I Still can't find them, I start looking in all the uncommon places like inside the fridge, lol! They Have to be somewhere. The last place is hurtful, I'll check the car and see if I locked them inside the car!

With a house full of kids, I have to try and keep everything organized at all times. I retrace my steps like most people do. What was I doing before this, and this and this. Look and see if you might have had them in your hands while you were unloading groceries, or whatever you were doing right at that moment. I find that a lot of times, since I don't like using a purse, I will have them in my hands and put them down right next to the grocery sacks, or library books. I once found them in the freezer. I forgot that I had placed a roast in there and was wondering what we were going to have for supper that night! I found them, right next to them.
Another time, I found them in my daughter's bookbag. I had just picked the kids up from school and started going through bookbags and as I was putting them back together, I placed the keys in there. Needless to say, they got to school late that next morning. I ended up finding them by accident as my daughter wanted her field trip paper signed. Thank goodness!! I wish you luck on finding your keys. The main thing is to retrace your steps. Where were you when you had them last? What were you doing with them in your hands?

I try to be kind to myself and even laugh it off. Otherwise I would be very angry all the time. NOt a day goes by that I don't have something that I cannot find. It is so frustrating for me so I have to add a little humor to tolerate myself!

I think your memory is aging now. ha! ha! I heard that Gingo can help a lot to prevent us to lose our memory.
I am consuming it too.
Anyhow, you should not lose your temper if you can not recall your memory.
Later you shall be able to remember or to locate you misplaced item.
This was my experience too.
If I purposely want to get a thing which I misplace, I shall spend a lot of times and effort to do so. At the same time, I shall lost my patient and temper.
If I just give up search that particular item, I shall feel better and accidentally I can recover it easily.

I hope you are not yet too old like me because it always happens to me and so to escape from accepting the mistakes, I just say maybe because I am old that I keep on forgetting where things are placed. However, since I accept being so forgetful, I make sure that the important things most especially keys, eyeglasses and cellphones are all tied up around my neck and the money around my waist.

this can help you, don't drink to much coffee sometimes it goes like that, have you experience not to look for something then suddenly you can see it just around the corner...that might be the story of your key , so let the minutes past by then you can see it later.

I HATE when I lose something like my keys or some other necessity I need for the day. And it seems as though I can't find things when I am running behind in my schedule, which only adds to the frustration. I try to put things like my keys in the same spot every time I come home. But for some reason or another, I might place them somewhere else. Then low and behold, I can't find them when I need them if they are not where I should have put them. As for other more unimportant things I may have lost or misplaced, I think that when I am putting them in the spot I choose that I will remember I put the item(s) in that particular spot. But when the time comes that I need that item, I forget where I put it. Then my self-diagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder kicks in and I will look for whatever it is that I misplaced until I find it. Although it doesn't always put my mind at ease, there have been times where I am unable to find something that I misplaced and a majority of the time, I will find it at a later time while cleaning or organizing or I just happen to remember where I placed the item(s). I think I read or heard somewhere that it is normal to forget where you put something, but it becomes a concern if you find your item(s) in an abnormal place where you shouldn't put that item, like the refrigerator or oven. I know it's easier said than done, but just try to relax to put your mind at ease and hopefully you will remember where you placed whatever it is that you lost.

That happens to me a lot of times. There are times that I will forget what I'm going to say to my friend. What I usually do is to remember the time when I still have that thing. It is so hard to think about it but I usually find my missing things by doing that.

If it's not all that important, I just forget about it for the moment and move on to other things.
But if it's something as important as house/car keys, I would probably turn the house upside down looking for it. Nah, I'll try to reorganize/refile everything in the house, and hopefully, I'll find it in the usual place. Sometimes, when I'm in a rush, I ask for help from whoever's in the house.
Best solution I have for the situation is to avoid it. I always file my stuff and clean up after myself so that when I misplace something, there would at least be less clutter to look through.

I search all over the house. When it comes to keeping keys, I normally put it in my bag or in one of my stuffed toy. So when it's lost, there are only two options for me to remember. My stuff toy and my bag. It's hard to keep things especially when you are not only one living in the house.

I have two things I do, besides those mentioned. The first is to call my keys. They don't answer, of course, but usually I find them right after I call them. Another thing I do is to look for something else entirely and I find what I couldn't find before.
Two weeks ago I lost a bank deposit I was going to make after I went to the library and the post office. It was in an envelope and I had it on top of the library books which were on the seat on the passenger side of the car. I dropped my packages at the post office. Then, after I had checked out my library books, I started looking for my bank deposit in my purse and it wasn't there. Imagine my surprise, though, when I was looking through my purse and I found a set of car keys with lots of other keys on a keyring I'd never seen before. I though I was going crazy. How did someone else's keys get into my purse? This was on a Wednesday afternoon. I didn't see how it could have happened, but I thought somehow someone mistakenly put the keys in my purse while I was looking at books, but that made no sense, since I had never let go of my purse in there. Even so, I left the the keys in the library in the lost and found, just in case someone did leave them in my purse and had no way to get home.
I found my bank deposit back in the car under the seat. When I got home and told my husband about finding the keys, my husband said he'd heard some people talking about keys after church that Sunday. Then I thought maybe someone's child had put the keys in my purse by mistake after borrowing them to go to the car. I emailed the pastor and he found the owner. They had been sitting right behind me in church. But I'm still not sure who put the keys in there. I told the owner of the keys they were at the library lost and found, and they were able to get them back. I guess all is well that ends well.
