i always get many of student said negative comment about their teacher/lecturer...
i don`t know why that trend is increasing..
it`s not good attitude i think...
but nothing can stop it, because no one had internet...
internet is belongs to Public...
so what is the effort from the teacher or the university to reduce that bad attitude??

Well it is sad indeed to note that we can read such kind of comments. But the problem is, the site is a social site and each facebook account holder has the freedom to post. I do not know as to the limitations with respect to liability if assuming the statements written are false. I think it does hurt when the person or teacher is the subject of such discussion will be able to read. But assuming that its somewhat trur, then it could also be a wake up call for the teacher.

Hi, adhyz82. No, I have never badmouthed my teacher on Facebook. I would never do something like this, because nothing that is said or done is private anymore. Especially, when it come to social networking sites that are on the Internet worldwide. I would rather to just keep my comments to myself when it comes to my dislike for any of my teachers or for anyone else for that matter. Anyone that is doing this now should stop because there will most likely be damage down the line that is very personal and life shattering.

I have not. I have a few old/previous teachers ADDED on facebook but I have yet to talk to any of them. They actually added me. lol. I thought it was illegal or something to add your teacher while they were STILL your teacher. But I'm not sure on that. lol

Hi adhyz: Maybe I'm a little nerd but I have to admit that I had a good relationship with my teachers so in my case the answer is no. Actually I have added some of my teachers as my friends in facebook.

I dont think it is wise to talk bad about our teacher or about other people on facebook, because once we posted something on facebook there is a chance that the people might know that they are being talked bad. Remember the case when students kicked out from school because they talked bad about their teacher on facebook? Well, the teacher wasnt on their fb list but somebody made a print screen of their status and sent it to the teacher. Teachers are human like us, they might make mistake and it is better not talking bad about them, talk bad about them on facebook will not change anything so why do we make ourself in trouble.

They made their own bed, so they deserved to be kicked out from school. I was following the news and was wondering why some people blamed the teacher for that. The students were never made their homeworks and the teacher told them to change their habbits because it was almost examination day, but the students were talked bad about the teacher's life. Yes, teacher is like our second parent i never talked bad about my teacher. If a teacher told us to be clever its because the teacher loves us and want us to be a smart student and to be a sucess person in the future.

I haven't talked to my teacher for years. I don't have communication with them. Teachers are our second family in the school. i havent experienced being slap or scolded with my professor. I cant say negative comments about them.

This is very saddening. I wrote a very positive comment to one of my teachers way back in high school. Her granddaughter happened to be my classmate and i was able to find her through facebook. I wrote in her wall, "tell your grandmother that she has been definitely one of the best and inspiring teachers ive had in school."

I don't talk about my teacher for i don't have one anymore. I tend to discuss about my boss on fb, since they are always the one making things difficult for staff. It's much easier to talk in FB because there's nobody to hear or see us since it's private. On top of that, we are merely discussing and we are not leaking any confidential information, so why can't we express our thoughts about certain people and actions?

yes we had talked about our teacher once when he said pretty bad things and accused us for cheating on the exam, and without much evidence for that matter we got mad and talked about him but after sometime and apologies from that teacher we got along with him after that incident
if the teacher/university want student to reduce that kind of attitude they should check themselves before saying anything to the students cause misinterpretation leads to negativity of the students toward the teacher.

hi,
when i was in on the job training in the field of teaching,i and my students shared our Facebook accounts and we were connected even now,for me i think there's no problem to share our Facebook account to our students, but we always remember that we should put a wall in the relationship of our students.

so its good
everyone understand their role and their position so did not make hurt each other
but i always see in my experience, many student forgot that they always complaint about their task, their teacher teaching method and their teacher can read what they write in the wall of facebook

I try not to because I consider most of my former teachers and professor as friends. So far, I only have less than a handful of teachers who I don't see eye to eye. Since I don't invite every person I know on Face book, there are a limited number of them on my circle of friends online.
I don't know but I always try to be objective and vague when it comes to posting in social networking sites. It has been a trend that airing your dirty laundry in a social networking site will bite the poster in the end. It happened between employers and employees, and a number of incidents where the other party gets offended. It's better to write it all down in a paper that you can burn later (and no will discover) than post in online when everyone can see for a long time.
I'm all for freedom of expression but some people, especially students should be cautious, especially when dealing with grievances. If a student has a problem with a teacher, it better to keep it in reality and talk it out. It might result in better situations because there is mending and growth in the relationship rather than publicly crucify someone based on a moment of experience and a person's personal opinion.
